Ok.... previously I only suspected it... but now I'm certain. Ann Coulter is clinically insane (not just bi-polar). What did the dumb beotch want him to do? ONLY focus his speech on the "wall"? Earth to Ann: STFU unless or until you have something intelligent, cogent and/or accurate to bleat.
Wealthy politicians and donors push for open borders while living their lives behind walls, gates and guards.
My administration has sent to Congress a commonsense proposal to end the crisis on the Southern border. It includes the humanitarian assistance, more law enforcement, drug detection at our ports, closing loopholes that enable child smuggling and plans for a new physical barrier or wall to secure the vast areas between our ports of entry. In the past, most of the people in this room voted for a wall. But the patrol wall never got built. I will get it built.
Simply put, walls work and walls save lives. So let’s work together, compromise and reach a deal that will truly make America safe.

I simultaneously agree with much of what Trump said in the speech and still found it boring. Because I find all SOTU speeches dull as dishwater whether I like the speaker or not.
I usually avoid all of them. Unfortunately, special circumstances (company) forced me to listen to the speech.
My wish is that they ban these televised addresses so we can avoid the speech and the typically inane response by the opposition party. As per the constitution, the president is only obliged to give a report to congress on the SOTU. A written report would do nicely.

I mentioned here before that Ann is generally positive about Trump when I hear her talking to Mark Simone’s conservative radio audience, as she was an hour ago during her interview. She still criticizes Trump about the lack of action on the wall, but her tone is more subdued and she will defer some of her harshest language.
I guess like a politician she has to be different things to different audiences to maximize book sales.

This speech was NECESSARY, TV and all. A written report would get deep-sixed by the MSM. (Not a good thing at all.)
Reagan would agree with me. I'm 100% certain of that. As a matter of fact, many pundits are saying Trump's 2019 SOTU speech was as good--and evidently as important--as Reagan's single most important speech.
I believe Trump's approval rating will continue to grow now. Many more Dems are going to #WalkAway now. They will have discovered by the televised speech that Trump is quite likeable compared to the jerk Democrats who were seething in the House Chamber.

I didn't see the speech, since I was working. I just read the online comments in near-real-time. My wife, however, said that she was stunned by how good and important the speech was.
(A few notes of sappiness are not always bad for a broad audience.)

Coulter only cares about selling books. Everything she says, Liberal or Conservative, everything she does, every appearance she makes, every single speech, is all about selling books. She is a carnival barker yelling about how beautiful the bearded woman is at noon, and then yelling about how disgusting she is at 6pm. The message doesn't matter. That's substantive, but with Ann you don't even need substance.
Listen to her speak.
She has to cap her every utterance with an almost pre recorded, knee jerk laugh, as if yet again she's dropped a joke that sailed right over everyone's head.
