Title: Hilarious Grammar Nazi Skit
Post by: AllThatJazzZ on October 08, 2019, 06:50:46 am
I don't know if you have to be a grammar Nazi to find this hilarious. The ending is a bit on the dark side. I'm squeamish and cautious about what I view, and this one is not problematic for me.

I've now, gotten a little self-conscious about grammar. Do I throw in too many commas for example.

@TomSea

No. There are exactly the right number of commas in your post. It's the comma misplacement that's the infraction. Also, you forgot the question mark after "example."

The good news is that I won't threaten to turn you in to authorities should you continue in your wicked abuse of grammar; nor will I pull a gun on myself on those rare occasions when I err. Retirement has its benefits.  :yowsa:

I never do it in writing, but in speech I'm prone to overuse of the ellipsis...

It seems that the advent of the internet has advanced a few informal usage rules. Even I've been known to misuse ellipses in informal settings ... but I'm okay with that. Key word: informal.
