Suspect in assault caught on video on UC Berkeley campus arrested

BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- A suspect in a videotaped assault on the UC Berkeley campus is now in custody. UC Police arrested Zachary Greenberg Friday.
Police say he's the man that was seen in the video wearing black in the altercation in Sproul Plaza on Feb. 19.

It angers me to watch that video, they have a suspect. What a pig headed blankety-blank to pull this on someone. I hope they prosecute him on something big.

Since the UC Berkeley faculty member who showed up at Antifa rallies swinging a bike lock, connecting with skulls on several occasions, was slapped on the wrist I doubt it.

Maybe when they have their 2020 Convention, Kamela's warriors can have brawls with Beto's warriors, and Cory's warriors. Etc.

This is so. So, there seems to be misdemeanor assault and battery and then, maybe felony assault and battery?? I knew of a case and was surprised to see it was only treated as a misdemeanor but there should be more serious applications of the law and this looks pretty serious, it's kind of a mugging at that.

Heavy article, 5 things to know about Zachary Greenberg, he once worked for the university which isn't all that significant, that can be anything from working in a cafeteria, groundskeeper and so on. He was there long. How hateful but... to be fair, the looneys are on both sides. If it wasn't said, the charges do look like felonies, attacking with a weapon (I only saw fists thrown) and seeking to cause bodily harm. Sound like felonies which is proper, this is more a mugging.

Add On: Yes, Greenberg sucker punched a guy who looks to be a lot lighter and Greenberg actually looks pretty beefy. He sure was handy with his fists there.... one would have to be prepared for something like this......I wonder if he has experience somehow?

1968. I wonder if such charges would even be brought in 2019? (Seems to me that such charges could have been brought numerous times for Antifa and BLM rioting. Yet they weren't.)

Tried in California, the guy will walk with a 'warning' or some such nonsense.
So many Judges/Prosecutors/Defenders there are either Antifa themselves or at least Antifa supporters. It goes all the way up from the Chief of Police to Mayor to the Governor. They won't allow any punishment. After all, from their point of view the guy was right.

We were in the midst of Vietnam, where over 58000 would eventually give their lives in service to their nation.

If they let this guy walk, after a blatant unprovoked attack on a person with whom he disagrees, then it will officially be 'open season' on Conservatives in California. The Left will know from this, that attacking Conservatives is not illegal in California.
This time it was a punch. Next time it will be a baseball bat. And the time after that it will be a gun. California is legitimizing lawlessness. Historically this has always turned on the people in authority. If they make attacking Conservatives defacto 'legal', then it is only a matter of time until the Leftist thugs start attacking anybody and everybody who says or does anything that they do not like.
