Cohen released from federal prison to home confinement due to coronavirus concerns

President Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen was released from federal prison to home confinement Thursday because of the Justice Department’s efforts to reduce the number of inmates in prisons amid the coronavirus outbreak, his lawyer reportedly said.
Cohen’s lawyer Jeffrey Levine said he spoke to the president’s former attorney at 9 a.m. and will likely issue a statement after speaking with him more, The Washington Post reported.
Cohen’s release is expected to irritate the president after Trump’s former “fixer†became involved in several federal investigations and cooperated with investigators who were looking into Trump. The attorney ended up testifying before Congress about the president’s alleged wrongdoings last year.
