Prosecutors call for one month of jail for Felicity Huffman

Federal prosecutors on Friday called for actress Felicity Huffman to be jailed for a month for her part in the wide-ranging college admissions bribery scandal, according to NBC News.
Huffman pleaded guilty in May to mail fraud and honest services fraud, admitting she paid an SAT proctor $15,000 to correct her daughter’s test answers. While she looked into making a similar arrangement for another daughter, she never went through with it, according to NBC.
Prosecutors, who also asked for the Oscar nominee to be fined $20,000, argued that her wealth would make probation or home confinement a toothless punishment for conduct they said in a filing was “deliberately and manifestly criminal.â€
