President Trump participated in an ABC News’ town hall Tuesday evening, taking questions from a well-spaced-out audience and it’s hard not to walk away thinking he was set up by the network.
That was the opinion of Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who said the questions he faced were essentially a reflection of the left’s four-year resistance campaign.

She's right, but it's about the only way to reach the ignorant people who still get their news from the legacy media.
Think about the lady who asked the question about the Atlantic story. She had no idea it had been discredited weeks ago.

I think he does.
His confidence gets hm in trouble sometimes as well as his expectation that people report things accurately.

He exhibits extreme confidence, always. That can be off-putting to those that hate his guts and are trying to destroy him, take control of America, and keep the economy tanked (not necessarily in that order).

You're right.
The political establishment can't stand his aggressive lets get things done approach. Yet then again, these are the same people who made no progress with peace in the middle east for decades and now we are seeing one nation after another signing on to the Abraham Accords.
For me, I'll take a guy who hurts my feelings, but gets things done any day over the guy who wants to hold my hand and "feel my pain".

Same here. The ones that give you that toothy smile and make promises and tell you they will fix everything if you only vote for them have been lying to us for decades. Which is why they hate Trump so vehemently. He is showing them up... for what they are and have been. Liars, crooks and opportunists.

Trump has never run from a confrontation, he’s that confident. And as others have pointed out, this is great debate prep. Debates—if they happen—will be the ground zero of gotcha attacks so t’s good to get some practice in.

Stephanopolus is a political operative for the Democommies, and never has been a journalist. But I agree with the notion that Trump has to get out in front of the non believers. Unlike Biden, Trump has no fears. He boldly goes where many would never do so.

One effect that the MSM may not realize is that their double-standard - asking Trump challenging and loaded questions while setting softballs on a Tee for Biden - give Trump lots of practice with thinking on his feet and knowledge of their narratives, while letting Joe be lazy and ill-prepared.

Right you are. And... even some of the incredibly dense Democrat voters should be able to clearly see that massive double-standard and, if they ever had a sense of fairness, should be a bit unhappy about it. Should, but probably won't.

That's right. The contrast is telling between the energetic, unafraid, takes-on-all-comers Trump and the pitiful, fearful Biden who must be protected by his handlers at all times from his adversaries.
Biden actually rejected the offer of 90 minutes of prime time with Stephanopolis. That says better than anything that the man is as fragile as a teacup.

Not amongst his administration. They seem to have spent a lot of today doing damage control. Trump comes out against masks, his CDC director comes out for masks, press office tries to explain it away. Trump comes out for herd immunity, the media plays up the body count from that, the press office tries to explain that he really didn't mean it. Trump hypes a non-existent healthcare plan that he says would finally cover pre-existing conditions, the press points out that Obamacare already does that, and the press office tap-dances around that.
These are always going to be hostile environments. There is no reason why he should be walking into them.
