Presidential climate envoy John Kerry vowed on Friday that the U.S. would take aggressive steps to reduce its carbon emissions as the nation officially rejoins the Paris climate accord.

Under the agreement, some 195 countries set their own voluntary emissions-reduction targets. The goal is to prevent average global temperatures from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius compared with pre-industrial levels.

Former President Donald Trump withdrew the country from the pact four years ago. But President Joe Biden, on his first day in office last month, notified the United Nations the U.S. would rejoin. That became official Friday.

“We know that just doing Paris is not enough,” Kerry said Friday at a virtual event hosted by groups urging action against climate change. Kerry helped broker the landmark Paris climate accord while serving as secretary of state under then-President Barack Obama and now serves in the newly created role of U.S. special presidential envoy for climate.

No nation will even come close to meeting it's so called "emission goals."

In order to do such, they would have to bring their economies and energy use to the pre industrial revolution. Which nation will do that in an increasingly competitive world?

When energy prices spike as a result of these policies the administration is pursing, expect the Democrats to deflect blame by accusing oil companies of price gouging. Will it work? It will work with some but the jury is out whether it will work with the public at large.

I have nothing against Green energy. I oppose replacing a more reliable source of energy with one that is notoriously unreliable. That's like telling people to give up their cars and go back to the horse and wagon. Both can get you from point A to B but one is more efficient and quicker.

They used to often say: Socialist watermelon, green on the outside, Commie red in the inside.
Enviro emissions control is bureaucracy to stifle the west and give Communists nation of the world a very unfair advantage, and in that it has worked VERY WELL.  They are not just catching up, but passing us by.
