Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) signaled Thursday that Democrats would pursue getting President Trump's tax returns, arguing that Americans "overwhelmingly" support Congress reviewing the returns.
Asked by reporters during a press conference about whether she finds it important to obtain Trump's taxes, Pelosi said that voters indicated strong support for investigating the president's finances.
"I think overwhelmingly the public wants to see the president's tax returns," Pelosi told reporters. "They want to know the truth. They want to know the facts. And he has nothing to hide."

They know Trump is probably the most audited guy in the country. They just want the juicy little embarrassing (and legal) tidbits to leak out.

Leftists in general and Pelosi in particular always pretend or presume to 'speak for the people'. Since they consider themselves to be intellectual gods who are infallible, of course everyone agrees with everything they believe and say.
That's why the Left constantly uses phrases like, 'That is not who WE are as a people.' simply assuming that they are the ones who define what America is supposed to be and what "most Americans" want.
Pelosi is especially guilty of this. Not only does she speak 'for the people', she also speaks for God. She fully believes that if Jesus was on Earth today, not only would he be a Liberal Democrat but he would also work with her as a staffer.

"Became wealthy" is putting it mildly. Most of Congress are 10s of millionaires. And that is only what they disclose. Who knows how many 10s of millions they have stashed away off the books.
Just in my lifetime 'government service' has changed from being a duty of sorts, into winning the lottery. Federal Government workers, make one third up to double the salary for the same job in the private 'real' economy, and it takes an Act of Congress to get fired. That's why there is so much nepotism. Get a Federal job and you'll never be poor for the rest of your life.

I want something life changing, let's have all the Congress critters be forced to release their tax returns, for every year from the time they were elected. I think maybe America would be interested to know how so many of them became multi multi millionaires on their salaries doing things that would be illegal for all the little people they represent.

I thought he should release his tax returns before his election... since it was accepted protocol. Now.... after two years and counting of the endless bashing, sniping, and hunting for ANYthing the idiot left can use against him, I have changed my mind about this issue. Eff em. Let the damned lefties/Democrats all collectively hold their fetid breaths for that "release" of his tax returns. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing in the Constitution that mandates a president turn over their tax return.
IMHO there is absolutely no benefit to the American public for him to do so. Didn't Rachael Madow already get his tax return only to find that it revealed absolutely nothing of concern??

Only one Democrat on Capitol Hill -- chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee Richard Neal -- has the power to request the return under the law. And even if he gets them, he doesn't unilaterally have the power to make them public without a vote of his committee. But, Neal has said he plans to ask for them. When exactly he will make that move is still under discussion.

For one thing,he was the chief legal counsel for NORINCO,the major Chinese firearms manufacturer that the BATF were going to raid and arrest all the execs after finding proof they were selling full-auto AK's to smuggling crews and to street gangs. The BATF had to brief a Senate Committee that Pelosi chaired the day before the raid,and mysteriously enough,every one of the Chinese Norinco executives flew out of the county that same day and were no longer available for arrest.
Go figure.

More interesting would be to see 10 years of her husbands' tax returns. He is the guy that used to be the Chief Legal Counsel in the US for the Chinese Arms Manufacturer "NORINCO". You know,the guys that were importing the AK's into the country that his wife loved to wave around at press conferences and demand they be banned.
The BATF was set up to raid NORNINCO offices and warehouses at Long Beach the day after they briefed a Senate Committee that she chaired. They were required by law to brief that committee before taking any legal actions against Norinco,so they did,and said they were ready to raid it the next morning and already had the arrest warrants for all the officials.
Oddly enough EVERY NORINCO official in the nation flew out of America that very same day,and none have been back since to be arrested. The BATF found the machine guns they had agreed to sell to drug smugglers and street gangs,as well as the ammunition,but there were no humans there.
Hmmmm,I wonder who tipped them off about the raid?

I may be wrong,but I think he is an actual partner in Norinco USA,Inc. If not,he is at a minimum the Chief Legal Consuel.
