Post by: SouthTexas on October 13, 2013, 04:19:39 pm
1775-2013
Service on the high seas.
It was 1775, in the dawning days of a nation, when early American leaders foresaw the importance of a fighting force at sea. In the years since, the Navy has excelled at its mission of winning wars, deterring aggression and maintaining freedom of the seas.
Happy 238th Birthday

My family is full of Navy guys.
If anyone ever gets the chance to visit the Naval Academy in Annapolis, the Navy museum there on the grounds is amazing.

I was told by my former roommate, whose son is currently in his second-class year, that the Superintendent actually gave the entire Brigade the "day off" on Tuesday after beating Houston. I'm not sure if that meant cancellation of classes or what, but certainly a big deal.
