This might be a little too "inside baseball" for a post, but I think people are interested, so I'll share it.  These stats show the sources of video views to gopbriefingroomtv at blip from the past 30 days:

gopbriefingroom.com  1,781
blip.tv  632
Apple iOS app 483
moonbattery.com 327
auktiononline.com 251
Unknown 227
therightreasons.net 206
freerepublic.com 100
qubetv.tv 81
static.ak.facebook.com 43

You might know what the "unknown" is.  It's probably a Pookie's Toon post.  Do you post at moonbattery.com?  The number of views from there is surprising.  The small number from FR is probably because Myst posts there when the videos are first released and those posts are linked to here before they are viewed.

Anyway, I thought you might find this interesting.  The numbers are definitely improving month to month.  Our overall growth rate in viewership is running about 20 percent per month.

Thanks for all you do, Pookie.

You're welcome, massadvj! Thanks for the stats. I don't understand it all, but I can tell you what I do.

As you know, I may use some of your vids as an attachment prior to posting them directly.

I post the toons directly at 4 sites (where the total views daily is bet. ~1500 & 2100): here, The Right Reasons, QubeTV & The Fort2. I notice that TheFort2 isn't in your list so they might be some of the Unknowns. I do not post anything at Moonbattery. I post HTML code to some Usenet newsgroups where they have 2 choices: they could click on individual links (would be the blip link) or open the code in a browser window to view the entire thread; don't know if those would be in blip or unknown counts. I send out a daily link (The Right Reasons or GOP Briefing Room) to an e-mail list; this is the same link that I post daily to FR. Some sites [Six Meat Buffet, DBKP (Death By 1000 Papercuts), etc.] also post that daily link. There are other sites that link to my toons subforum here &/or at The Right Reasons. That's pretty much all that I'm aware of...

Very interesting.  Thanks for the information.  You are right that a lot of the blip.tv views are from links to toons.  I did not consider that.

I guess all we can do is keep yelling into every megaphone we can find and hope people find us.  When we get closer to the general election, I will post every video in the archive on You Tube, which will result in much more viewership.  For now, it's a question of building up a solid foundation for viral sneak attacks against the socialist empire.  So long as we keep growing, I am encouraged.

One other thing.  The number of views is tied to advertising revenues (we made a total of $1.76 in ad revenues last month from views of older vids.  New vids don't have ads attached to them.  The ad revenues built up since we started are up to a whopping $4.26).

It seems likely to me that blip fudges the viewership number downward to avoid having to pay as much in ad expense.  I can't prove that, of course, but I suspect it.  Also, these are "unique" views, so if the same viewer sees a video twice, or watches more than one video from the same computer, it only counts as one.  We have far more total views than the numbers suggest.
