The GOP establishment strikes back

For the first time since at least 2015, former House Speaker John Boehner is the toast of the town in Washington.

The Ohio Republican is out with his memoir On the House. In both the book and a series of interviews to promote it, Boehner dishes on his party.

On The View, Boehner accused former President Donald Trump of “one of the sadder things I’ve seen in the last 40 years in politics.”

“The president abused the loyalty and the trust that voters had placed in him by perpetuating this noise,” Boehner said of Trump’s claims that last year’s presidential race was stolen from him through widespread voter fraud. According to Boehner, Trump isn’t finished yet. “Here’s a guy who’s unemployed, has nothing else to do but cause trouble,” he said.

I honestly have no desire to read about anything Boner might say or do and I wish it would stop getting posted here!

Please help me out here.

I imagine myself a rather verbal and literate sort, but I have been at a loss to find precisely the right word to describe a political party member who constantly seeks to ingratiate himself with members of an opposing party by trashing his own party's members.

You know: people like John Boehner. Or John Kasich. Or John McCain.

Wait - they are all "Johns", right? Urban slang for someone who frequents prostitutes.

So, maybe that's the word I was looking for.

But then there is Jeff The Flake, who's a Jeff not a John, even if he acts like one.

Damn. There must be a word.

To show you what an opportunistic bottom feeder Boehner truly is...he trashes Reagan now to sell books but back when they did the unveiling of the Ronald Reagan statue in Statuary Hall he couldn't stop praising RR and his accomplishments. He even fake cried.

I was the narrator for that particular ceremony.  And I witnessed it all first hand.  So to hear Boehner poor mouth Reagan and his legacy now shows exactly what a fake and fraud he really is.  His book will sell less than Jim Acosta's.

Another slang definition would be more apropos... As a place for the elimination of waste...

I do wish we could flush them all.

Still looking for the right word, though.

Hey - I appreciate the effort, but there are many heavy drinkers (quite possibly including yours truly) who wouldn't dream of denigrating or insulting people who sat on their own team's bench.

And so, the question remains:

Boehner the Boozer is a proven loser, but what shall we name his ilk?

I'm waiting to see if he sells more books than Hillary's last book (the name of it escapes me). His primary focus I'll assume will be trashing Cruz and Trump in the book.

With that being stated, I wonder who's going to actually read the book and fact check it?  Maybe Levine or Beck??

I thought about that, but "Quisling" means traitor, and these people are more akin to collaborationists - hence: Vichy Republicans.

Vidkun Quisling was a traitor to his country (Norway) in that he collaborated with the Nazis by attempting to overthrow the Norwegian government (he failed) during the Nazi invasion of Norway. However, after the Nazis had control of Norway he acted as the Prime Minister of the puppet Norwegian government, under Nazi occupation. So he was both a traitor and a collaborationist. Much like the Republicans who try to cozy up with the Democrats, IMHO.

The right honorable and learned John Beohner has many times crossed the floor of the House, each time leaving behind a trail of slime.  It defines the political career of Boehner that began with hypocrisy, proceed with arrogance, and finish with contempt.

For the first time since at least 2015, former House Speaker John Boehner is the toast of the town in Washington.

Boehner thinks he's still relevant.  Isn't that cute!
