On Ending Wind Energy Subsidies, Abbott Says Legislature ‘Will Consider’

From 2006 to 2019, wind and solar generators received about $19.4 billion in subsidies and benefits from Texas taxpayers and consumers.

With Texas taxpayers subsidizing unreliable energy sources with billions of dollars, Gov. Greg Abbott says ending those subsidies is something the state Legislature will consider.

From 2006 to 2019, wind and solar generators received about $19.4 billion in subsidies and benefits from Texas taxpayers and consumers.

This week, those same generators contributed to millions of Texans being left without power as subfreezing temperatures swept the state.

On a Fox News interview earlier this week, Abbott said the failure of wind and solar energy “shows how the Green New Deal would be a deadly deal for the United States of America.”

From what I've read, Federal, state, and local subsidies made bird-choppers and -fryers "profitable" enough to drive several conventional power plants into being shut down. ALL subsidies of wind and solar power need to be cut off. Let the bird-choppers and -fryers prosper or fail on their own intrinsic economic viability or non-viability.

The state's population is exploding, and cannot depend upon solar panels or wind turbines.  Those subsidies were enough to  have funded a couple of nuclear plants which, if placed in the right locations, would have averted this whole crisis.  Humans come first.
