Reducing CO2 in the atmosphere would require COVID-like lockdowns for decades, climate scientists warn

“To reduce CO2 concentration in the atmosphere in the long run, restrictions imposed during the corona pandemic would have to be continued for decades. But even this would be far from being sufficient.”

A study by researchers at the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) in Germany showed that because of the lockdowns imposed by COVID-19, CO2 emissions worldwide were estimated to be 8% lower in 2020, but measurements so far have revealed no CO2 decrease in the atmosphere.

In addition, the study said that reaching the Paris Accord goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius would require similar COVID-like lockdowns every year.

Idiots.  A 1.5 degree increase would increase atmospheric CO2 levels.  It is temperature that drives CO2 levels, not the other way around.  Liberals can celebrate during the next ice age when CO2 levels plummet from their current gargantuan level of 0.04%.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.
