A gunman opened fire inside a Minnesota health clinic Tuesday morning leaving at least five people critically wounded — and then at least one bomb went off inside the facility, according to police and reports.

Police responded to the Allina Health Clinic in Buffalo, about 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis, just before 11 a.m. local time, The Star Tribune reported.

About 30 minutes later, at least one bomb exploded in the clinic, the outlet reported, citing emergency dispatch audio. That forced emergency medical workers to leave the clinic’s parking lot and set up from a safer distance. ...

A sheriff came into the eatery and told the worker at least 15 people were injured before taking the nurses to the police station for questioning.

A male suspect has been taken into custody, the Star Tribune reported, citing dispatch audio.

The St. Paul division of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is also responding to the scene, the agency wrote in a tweet. ... NY Post

... U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer, a Republican who represents Buffalo in Minnesota’s 6th District, tweeted that he’s praying for the staff and patients at the clinic.

“My staff and I are in contact with Allina’s team and we hope that this horrible situation will come to a quick and peaceful resolution,” Emmer said.

Rep. Dean Phillips, a Democrat who represents the nearby west metro suburbs, tweeted that he was horrified by the reported violence.

“Targeting those who dedicate their lives to saving others is as heartbreaking as it is appalling,” he wrote. “Praying for the injured, their families, and our community.”

Minnesota’s DFL party also issued a statement via Twitter, calling what happened an “attack on health care providers.” ...

DFL needs to focus.    The assailant and his motive have yet to be identified.

This has a bit more info, plus a couple of links to local stations. Evidently Buffalo is not in the Mpls-St. Paul metro are, but not far, either.

Sounds like the DFL Party are shooting off their mouth in the dark. They should STHU until something is actually known.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) — One person is in custody and multiple people are injured following a shooting at an Allina Health Clinic in Buffalo Tuesday morning.

According to Buffalo police, the shooting was reported shortly before 11 a.m. on 755 Crossroads Campus Drive. At 11:30 a.m., an Allina representative confirmed there was an active shooter at the clinic in Buffalo.

Despite some reports early on of explosive devices, John Holler with Wright County said that there were no bombs or explosives detonated.

Police report: Gunman had made prior threats against Minnesota clinic

BUFFALO, Minn. — A man who opened fire at a Minnesota health clinic, killing one staff member and wounding four others, previously threatened to carry out a mass shooting at the facility, according to a police report.

Gregory Paul Ulrich, 67, was arrested in Tuesday’s attack at an Allina clinic in Buffalo, a community of about 15,000 people roughly 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis. He remained jailed in Wright County on Wednesday and was expected to appear in court Thursday.

Ulrich has a long history of conflict with medical clinics in the area and had been unhappy with the care he had received, Buffalo Police Chief Pat Budke said.

According to a police report, Ulrich threatened to carry out a mass shooting at the clinic in October 2018, with a doctor telling investigators that Ulrich had talked about “shooting, blowing things up, and practicing different scenarios of how to get revenge.” He said Ulrich told him he dreamed about exacting revenge on the people who “tortured” him, referring to issues he had with back surgeries and the medication he was prescribed for them.  ...

During a search of the clinic, investigators found a suspicious device and evacuated the building, Wright County Sheriff Sean Deringer said.

It was not immediately clear whether that device exploded, but TV footage showed several shattered plate-glass windows at the clinic. Deringer said suspicious devices were also found at a local Super 8 motel where Ulrich had been staying, and there were at least two shattered windows there as well.

Deringer said Ulrich was well known to law enforcement before the attack, and there were calls for service dating back to 2003.  ...

Like you, I don't much care what a lone shooter/killer is, though I find Libbies' and Proggies' frustrated desperate need amusing. This guy needs to be put down, though between Dem-ruled MN and his age, that isn't likely to happen.

The gunman who killed a nurse and injured four other people inside of a Minnesota health clinic Tuesday had a vendetta against doctors because they refused to give him painkillers and had recently been given a permit for a legal firearm, a report said.

Gregory Ulrich, who killed at least one nurse at the Allina Health Clinic in Buffalo outside of Minneapolis, had a particular grudge against one doctor and even affixed a sign in front of his mobile home calling the professional a “quack,” former roommate Raymond Zastra told FOX 9.

“He didn’t like the doctors because they wouldn’t give him all the painkillers he wanted. They’d give him a month supply, and it would be gone in a few days,” Zastra, who lived with Ulrich in his trailer for two years until last July, told the outlet.

The former roommate said Ulrich was often high on painkillers and was seen sniffing glue, smoking marijuana, drinking excessively and would “just sit on the couch high.”   ...
