I think republicans should file for impeachment of Woodrow Wilson whose wife, in violation of the Constitution, ran the country while he recovered from a stroke. :judge:

I think that Republicans should file for impeachment of Woodrow Wilson because he was a racist totalitarian POS.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

I wonder how many Americans understand just how profoundly their nation changed last November 3rd.

IMO it cannot be overstated.

They will kill two birds with one stone with this; one they vote to remove President Trump and they get 1/3 of the GOP Senate to walk.  Why wouldn't they proceed?

None that voted for Biden.  They are about to find out.  I think the older generation will take notice, but sadly the younger generation is delighted; all the politically correct brainwashing that they received in the public school system will become a reality.

For many it's not going to hit home until it affects their wallets and the limitations that they will soon encounter.  Then maybe they'll understand.

IMHO it's too late.

Many are too stuckonstupid to understand that, much less anything else.   Useful idiots is a vast understatement.

Rand said 1/3 of the Senate would walk ... not sure of of exactly what he meant.  Will 1/3 vacate their seats permanently or will 1/3 walk out and refuse to vote?

I'm hoping that 1/3 vacate their seats.  That's sends a much clearer message and one that should have been sent a long time ago.

It may not dawn on them until they mature and actually form a thought on their own (vs. the ones put there by the PC leftists).... and discover the harsh reality that many throughout history have discovered...that if their thought is not mainstream and accepted, they will be silenced, persecuted and maybe even "rounded up" for re-education.   It won't be so funny when they're the ones being persecuted, of course.   But it will, indeed, be way too late.

The Senate has no power to try a private citizen, even if that citizen was once President.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Meanwhile McConnell is asking for delaying the trial till February.  Giving Trump time to prepare (gee isn't that considerate of him).

As for ruining the Senate -- DEMS Senators are filing complaints against Cruz and Hawley.  I have no doubt the McConnell is encouraging the removal of Cruz.  I think Cruz realizes that he had an obligation to investigate the corruption but I don't think he realizes just how badly they now want him out office and how deep the corruption truly is.

If Schumer didn't think that they would succeed in removing President Trump or removing some Senators, he wouldn't be proceeding.

Preparing a defense just lends credibility to the farce. He should ignore it totally.

Hell yeah, there's about 7 of them we need to dig up. With FDR first.

Charge:  Daniel J. Trump Incited the  January 6, 2021 Capitol event.

Exhibit A: Proof from WaPo and others that Capitol event was preplanned

Defense:Prosecutor, how do you incite a riot that was planned before the event, and you had no part in?

Prosecutor:  Shut up and let the senate decide...

I have a $100 bill that says the SCOTUS won't see it that way.  Another $50 says they won't even take the case.
