Parler's website reappears online

The website for the social media platform Parler reappeared on Sunday after Amazon last week suspended the site from its web hosting service.

The website shared a new message from Parler CEO John Matze asking â€œHello world, is this thing on?â€

â€œNow seems like the right time to remind you all â€” both lovers and haters â€” why we started this platform,â€ a post on the website below Matzeâ€™s statement said. â€œWe believe privacy is paramount and free speech essential, especially on social media. Our aim has always been to provide a nonpartisan public square where individuals can enjoy and exercise their rights to both.â€

Parler now appears be hosted online by Epik, CNN reported. The hosting platform also supports Gab, 8chan and other platforms that favored by far-right groups.

The social media platform has found popularity among some conservative and right-wing groups for its lack of content moderation, with many migrating there after mainstream sites like Facebook and Twitter took steps to down on misinformation.

I signed up on Parler about 4 days before they were taken down, just for that reason. Over there I am HoustonSam61; I hope they come back completely.

They will at this point, They have the bank or they would not have went for the site. unless Epik gets taken...

They aren't back - they've just managed to stand up a single web page. But they are promising to be back by the end of the month, which is great news.

Their backend was running on Amazon (AWS). Once they get that up and going you will be able to browse and post via your web browser. Apple and Google are still banning the app from their App stores. If you still have the app installed on an Apple device, that may also work, but you won't be able to update the app or install it on new devices. And you can apparently "side load" the Android app.

So the big issue is the AWS take-down. Sounds like they've signed an agreement with Epik, but have some work to do to port the backend from AWS to that.

Well I guess the moral of this story is: Don't let Amazon get a hold of your backend.... Because we know what they will do.
