‘We are in danger of losing our republic,’ Air Force strategy chief says in wake of Capitol attack
Stephen Losey

The three-star general in charge of strategy for the Air Force issued a grim warning for the United States on Thursday after extremists attacked the Capitol: The nation is now under a greater threat than it was after 9/11.

“To be clear: It is my personal opinion we are in danger of losing our republic,” Lt. Gen. Clinton Hinote, deputy chief of staff for strategy, integration and requirements, wrote on Twitter. “Real danger.”

In a series of tweets posted Thursday afternoon, Hinote described the numbness he felt, then grief and depression, that followed the 9/11 attacks. He feels the same today, he wrote.

That attack, however, came primarily from an external threat.

He has provided another reason why we are in danger: when the high ranking officers wax philosophical about politics in a series of tweets instead of keeping his d*mn mouth shut about such things, the military thinks their duties under the Constitution and UCMJ are changing to see themselves as the fourth branch of government. 9999hair out0000

We are in danger of losing the Republic, but likely not for the reasons he thinks.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Already done IMHO! You cannot come back from the destruction of the rule of law and that is where we are now. @Smokin Joe

Any folks knowledgeable about the upper eschlions of the military here?

Where generally is the line of demarcation of Swamphood....    Full Bird?  One Star? Higher?
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

It's been 50 years since I was directly involved but I would say at the General Staff level.

Why do I think he is the type of person that wets his finger and holds it up to determine which direction the wind blows before taking a position? I think his primary motivation is fear of losing his phony baloney job. I especially like his invoking 9/11

My enlistment only goes back 48 years, Bigun, but I have a feeling things have changed since then.  I would say it starts now at E - 1 since schools train kids today to love Socialism, blame America for everything wrong in the world, accept PC without questioning, and hate everyone who questions authority.  Back when I was in college students questioned authority, today's college kids question everything that isn't approved by the government and media.  More specifically, anything that that doesn't lean to port. :headbang:

You are likely right @rangerrebew. Certainly are right about what happens in public schools these days. There were college courses in a subject unknown now back in my day. They were called Critical Thinking.

They were called Critical Thinking.

At this point I'd settle for just thinking skills and work on critical later. My daughter, who is 37 and a paralegal, says by comparison today's lawyers are stupid when matched against the older ones, which says a lot.  It wouldn't be a stretch, then, to think  that carriers over into a lot of the country, including the military.\:pondering:

:yowsa: Law schools don't even teach the Constitution anymore.  The study case law only and even the people teaching those young skulls full of mush have been lied to about a great many things that are simply not true as a matter of Constitutional law.  There is NO doubt - zero - that the entire population has been greatly dumbed down over the last 50 years and that was purposefully done. We are witnessing the results every day now.

Indeed.
Gramsci (and his followers) knew what they were doing, and "played the long game", keeping their eyes on the prize (to borrow a phrase from another leftist/communist movement).

And it looks like that at least for now... they've won.

How might this be reversed?
IF it can be reversed at all?

John Dewey and all his lemmings were involved as well.

Not possible to undo that IMHO 3 generations lost and I don't think you can recover from that.

Well, if we're going to be branded "subversives", (Counter-revolutionaries), whatever, let's get to work and start teaching every kid we can what their Rights are, why the Constitution matters, where those Rights come from, and pointing out the fallacies behind this Marxist nonsense. Let's tap that ordinary rebelliousness for good.

Besides, a lot of them already know this crap is just that, at least out here where not every place has a sidewalk or road junction a traffic light.

Many states, including Michigan, have started or started and given up on, quality education for one major reason - the lack of growth by city students.  Of course setting higher standards is racist, there aren't monthly good report cards like welfare checks.  Most kids today think good grades and a diploma are entitlements for them.  When the grades aren't good, CAIR, THE NAACP, Laraza, etc., all scream racism and discrimination which in turn get politicians on the bully pulpit and they have to make sure statutory laws are written to stop this terrible "injustice" and further down the slide to hell America goes. The things you can never force a kids in school to do:

MAKE them learn
MAKE them think
MAKE them talk
MAKE them read
MAKE them accept your values

All of these are the basis of education.

And so much more...

That morning prayer acknowledged the existence of an immutable and more powerful entity which had established standards of Right and Wrong, and would one day judge all thereby.
The Pledge of Allegiance further acknowledged the bond of country, of a culture which united diverse regions and people, for our mutual benefit, another level of loyalty, and an entire set of principles.
Those things, depending on your school, would be found in your studies, reflected (or renounced) in your actions, words, and thoughts, and incorporated in your character.

Fully one generation, and perhaps two have been taught otherwise, as first prayer to Almighty God and then the pledge of loyalty to this nation have been erased from our schools and replaced with a contest of victimhood and division: division of the family, the community, and the country, often along lines that are entirely artificial, the product of twisted minds making a mockery of all that is sane and natural and proclaiming themselves the wisest of the wise.

Typically, the Leftists who have engineered this creation, who have cobbled together this parody of America with insane divisiveness, held together only by the desire to loot it, fail to realize the group which is largest is still loyal to that God and those ideals, and have divided themselves from it by creating and pandering to any group which excludes itself from being truly American.
In that, they have sown the seeds of their demise, and they, at their peril, prod and goad a sleeping giant, one awakening to the foulness they have made of its home. Unintended Consequences are their hallmark, and this one, like underestimating the crystalizing resolve of Americans after Pearl Harbor, will be their undoing.

Oh, I dunno... My daddy rubbed my nose in it every single damn day he was alive. He drove that stuff so deep into my brain that it can't ever come out. Learning never comes by reason. It comes by pain.

The light's divine divide is when you realize the old man was hard on you and caused you that little pain to keep you from the massive pain that is native to the wild of the world.

There was a day I told my dad he was right all the way along... And two of my own have done the same to me.

I was specifically referring to schools and teachers, thought I didn't make that clear.  But I worked with emotionally disturbed kids for the better part of 3 decades and can say that even with good parents, some kids will resist being educated at all costs. 999yawn

I think parents have far more long term impact in children's behaviors.

My most lasting memory was at about age 10, I brought a "C" home on my report card, and while driving down the road my father pointed out guy shviering along side the highway digging.  His comment was ...  "Bring many of these (C's)  home, and you will be doing the same" the rest of your life.   Same guy once a month would preach Save until it hurts, and then hurt some more.  I resented a lot of this till I got about 25, and the light went off....

A couple of things.  One disarmament. Islamic terrorism (several Congressmen sitting in Congress) and  the take over of our Republic; be it from the Middle East or China.  Obama will complete his goals through Biden.

Keep in mind:

Years ago Bammy made a "small arms treaty" with the U.N., though my understanding it was never approved by Congress and he did it illegally according to the Constitution -- he side stepped it.

Reports that Obama hid Al Qeada in Iran have surfaced recently.

Trump didn't want UN involvement -- IMHO that's one reason why they need him out of office without being able to run again. Trump stopped the Iran nuke deal and Iran is making threats again.

I don't have a FB account but a friend showed me a video of an officer in the military (I didn't pay attention to what branch) basically saying the he was in fear as well of losing our republic and the main gist of the whole short video/message that he was giving was about disarmament. The video ended with he was really afraid and we should be too.

That video was taken down within a couple of hours.  When 'they' start taking down videos and messages, then I start to believe that there is some validity to them.

I don't believe that our U.S. troops will be against us, but I keep remembering the video and warnings that I saw years ago regarding 'W' housing UN troops in old military bunkers and gulags going up inside them in each state with their locations.  That information and those sites were taken down.  I believe at the time they were posted by WND's Jerome Corsi who was seen as nothing more than a conspiracy theorist.

Trump not too long ago wanted to bring home our troops from Germany and from other areas, perhaps he knew what 'they' were trying to do.

I have other gut feelings and thoughts that I will keep to myself -- my gut feelings (precognitive feelings) have rarely ever been wrong.
