The trial is partially funded by Operation Warp Speed, an effort by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to “accelerate the development, manufacturing, and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics.â€
The trial, which started in late October, seeks to enroll 30,000 people across the country. Locally, the UTHealth Clinical Research Unit at Memorial Hermann is looking to enroll 200 people considered a high-risk of contracting COVID-19.
