Only people who understand how Tsunamis work will get this one.  Before the giant wave rushes in, first the water gets sucked out to sea, leaving fish and mollusks flopping around on the receded beach.  Hawaiians understand this very well.  If they see the water rapidly drawing out to see, they run, not walk to high ground because they know from bitter experience what's coming.
