Must admit I found that a bit of a surprise myself.

I didn't.  In fact, I've been railing about it for years here and elsewhere.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

I suspected, but frankly, am disappointed to have that suspicion so thoroughly confirmed.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Am I the only one thinking this thread title needs to be changed to "Election 2020 Illegal Updates"?

I think this is the guy that Trump referred to as a "Never-Trumper" on the leaked call.

Anybody have a clue as to what is going on there?

Wild-assed guess?

No idea. One guess would be that Trump asked him to do something, which he declined, and then he quit rather than be fired.

I saw another post, also from Poso:

Trump talking about firing everyone right now. Wray, Gina, etc. And wants to declassify everything - UFOs, JFK, all of it

https://twitter.com/jackposobiec/status/1346238267625263107?s=21

My guess is President Trump is realizing he's not going to be able to prevent the election theft, or for that matter even make his case that such theft occurred, and is either venting or seriously considering these things.

Trump should take a hard look at who he had advising him on personnel.  If I were him, I would distance those folks from anything he does in the future.  It was a major weakness for Trump.  He did not build his own team, literally!!!

Because he was an outsider to government, and because it's been so long since we had a conservative administration to pick talent from (Reagan was the last one), I don't think he had much choice. It was either take the advice he was offered or leave the spots unfilled. And as his term went on the situation became worse because working in the Trump Admin would likely be a career killer - either due to a conflict with the boss and a resultant public shaming and possibly firing, or because of the media's portrayal of the Trump Admin as the third Reich making future public office unlikely.

In any event, it doesn't matter now. He's made his last appointment.

 NEW from me:

Republican state senators in Georgia have signed a letter to VP Mike Pence asking him to delay the Jan. 6 count by 10 to 12 days.

“There’s about 16 or 18 of us now that signed this letter," Sen. Brandon Beach told me on the phone today.

Brandon Beach is a good man.

Nice find Hoodat.  Smacks the doubters right between the eyes.

I guess this was the data which was supposed to be presented in Congress, but wasn't, the day of the "insurrection".

And any attempt to post it now results in it being taken down and the poster called an insurrectionist.

This is why the Dems will have a tough time governing as a large % of population, possibly a majority, feel their election choice was stolen from them.

Look for the iron fist of coercion rather than a reconciliation of unity plea be the mantra for the future.

President Ulysses S Grant made the mistake in trusting his appointed advisors too much, who then betrayed his trust and filled their pockets full of money.  President Trump did much the very same, except they betrayed Trump even worse.  Both received black marks for the errors in judgment.
