Biden's oil stance jars Democrats in tough races
By Alexander Bolton - 10/24/20 01:12 PM EDT

Joe Biden's vow to phase out the oil industry at Thursday's debate creates a problem for Democratic candidates in red-leaning states and swing House districts as it gives Republicans an opening to tie them to their party’s left wing.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said in April of last year that he wanted to make the 2020 election “a referendum on socialism.”

That strategy ran into a big problem when Democrats nominated Biden, a candidate who developed a reputation as a moderate during his decades in Washington, for president.

Now Biden’s blunt affirmation that “yes” he “would transition” when asked by President Trump on Thursday whether he would “close down the oil industry,” gives Republican candidates ammo.

“Biden has rolled out nothing short of an entirely left-wing economic agenda and has never been forced to defend it on a public stage until Thursday,” said Josh Holmes, a Republican strategist and McConnell’s former chief of staff.

The Dems EARNED IT!  By selecting this dead from the neck up fool to be their standard bearer, they deserve every lost election they thought they would win.

The group I want to see suffer is the news media.  I think the time has come to change the standards for libel and slander.  I think media pukes should be subject to harsher outcomes for libel or slander.

I have said on at least a half a dozen threads that this one issue, might be the best hope to sink Slow Joe, and his thin coattails.

9.8 Million people basically were given the pink slip last Thursday night, if this stupid bastard wins.   That is 9.8M over all 50 states.

Every state has at least 10K energy jobs, that Biden wants to eliminate.  They all know it, and many probably want their early votes back.

Here is API's report on energy employment and state impact.  Well worth a look....

Consider Delaware has the fewest O&G jobs in the lower 48. Maybe his campaign people just don't have any idea how many people are employed in industry and industry related jobs.

OTOH, he's got a son who has (had) a hot shot job at Urkranian Gas Company, who might have covered this with him. (/s)

Totally agree. The guy just dropped clorine tablets into the fish tank. Even farmers here in Iowa will be thinking how the heck they're going to farm without fuel and fertilizer.

Don't even get me started on truckers.

It's 101, though. Fuel under Obama was above $4/gallon, now, under $2.

Double fuel costs and the price of everything will go up, because that's what gets it to the store.

I tell you, Trump drags all the dead head Republicans across the finish line to victory.

Trafalgar has Tillis in North Carolina up by 1.8%.  Of course his opponent had a sex scandal, but he is up, and with Biden's fathead oil comment, all the boats in the Republican harbor rise.

Republicans sweep everything.  The big question is are they capable of getting anything done?

It will be nice to silence Pelosi.  I am so tired of her idiocy.
