The Hunter Biden scandal exposes his “simple†image as a con.

Joe Biden spent decades cultivating his image as a “middle class†legislator, free of the usual corrupting pressures a pol faces. He wanted people to see him as simple, not swampy. A big part of this con was his well-advertised commute from Delaware to Washington, D.C., on Amtrak.
The media is working overtime to isolate Hunter as the one bad apple in the Biden family. But the truth is that he picked up his grifting habits from his uncles, aunt, and pop.
He kept up this charade during his years as vice president, insisting that the Obama administration didn’t give off even a whiff of scandal, a lie that he has continued to peddle as a presidential candidate. The press, of course, lapped it all up. They happily aided Biden in his con by portraying him as “authentic,†despite the fact that the signature moment of his career had been plagiarizing a biographical speech from Neil Kinnock, a British leftist whose socialism Biden would come to ape, too.
The Hunter Biden scandal has exposed the media’s malpractice in covering Biden. The media left the public in the dark about the true character of the Biden family. Far from simple and unacquainted with the swampiness of Washington, Biden sat at the center of a family of lobbyists. While the press was swallowing his nonsense about the unimpeachable integrity of the Obama White House, Biden was letting his siblings and son profit off his government influence.
It appears that Hunter was thoroughly corrupted by the Biden family ethos, one which, as Peter Schweizer writes in Profiles in Corruption, “depends on Joe Biden’s political influence and involves no less than five family members.â€
Biden’s sister, Valerie, has made millions off her brother. She runs a political messaging firm that has raked in gobs of money from her brother’s various campaigns. The White House years were also good for his two brothers, James and Frank. They found lobbying gigs in construction and education, positions for which they had zero experience.
