China joins WHO vaccine initiative, aiming to provide innoculations worldwide

hina announced it is joining the World Health Organization's COVAX alliance initiative, in which countries are working together to develop a COVID-19 vaccine.

The alliance deadline was in September, however, China said it is now willing to become a part of initiative. China has several vaccines in the final stages of clinical trials.

President Trump declined to be involved with the initiative, saying it is "influenced by the corrupt WHO and China."

There appears to be two sides of this COVAX Alliance: development; "equitable" distribution. None of the vaccine companies participating in Operation Warp Speed are participating in the development part of COVAX. But AstraZeneca, Moderna, Novavax, and Inovio appear to be participating in the distribution effort.
