New wave of COVID-19 cases builds in US

Confirmed COVID-19 cases are rising again in the United States, building a new crescendo of disease that is likely to exceed earlier waves of infection in a pandemic that has already killed more than 200,000 on U.S. soil.

As Americans venture back to school, to the workplace and — in spite of warnings from public health officials — to bars and restaurants, cases have begun to rise in the last two weeks. The United States has averaged about 40,000 new cases a day over the past week, up from a recent low of about 34,000 cases a day earlier this month.

The country is now averaging about the same number of new infections on a daily basis as it was in June, when case counts were building to an ominous peak. The average number of people who are dying on a daily basis stands at about 700, the same level as early July.

What a crock, they are really selling this shit to the gullible and liberal, my liberal son(We have to wear masks around our 2 and 4 year old granddaughters and weren't allowed to see them for two weeks after our trip) was telling me that his work was finally getting back to full time in the office.....................until the next round of closures in October. Who thinks America will stand for another round of in home detention?

Based on the "Daily New Cases in the United States" chart about mid-page here, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ , I will say very simply that "The Hill"'s claim is false. It can easily be seen from the chart that the average of daily new cases has been pretty much flat since mid August after a downward trend that started in the 4th week of July. "Daily New Deaths in the United States" have similarly been falling and flattened, though from a much lower peak.

This, is "The Hill".

No footnote "source" on the page....  Numbers based on????  The Hill "analyzed state data."  Parameters?  Fishing for high numbers?  Easy to question!  But many don't/won't.
