Trump refuses to commit to peaceful transition of power

President Trump on Wednesday refused to commit to a peaceful transition of power should he lose the election in November, saying he needs to “see what happens," sowing doubt about the security of mail-in ballots.

“We’re going to have to see what happens, you know, but I’ve been complaining very strongly about the ballots. The ballots are a disaster,” Trump told reporters at a White House briefing when asked if he would commit to making sure there is a peaceful power transition.

When pressed, Trump said there would be no need for a transition of power without mail-in ballots, suggesting he believes he would win the election without an expansion of mail-in voting during the pandemic.


“Get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a very peaceful, there won't be a transfer, frankly, there will be a continuation,” Trump said. “The ballots are out of control. You know it and you know who knows it better than anyone else? The Democrats know it better than anyone else.”

We're in the country where the democrats refused to concede in 2000; where they nearly rioted at meetings of the Electoral College in 2016; where their last candidate has publicly announced that in this election they should not concede under any circumstances; and where their supporters have announced they will "burn it down" if they can't immediately get their way on the Supreme Court and have threatened the entire country with further widespread rioting if they don't approve of the election outcome.  And the country where democrat supporters are rioting even as I write this because they disapprove of the outcome of an investigation in Kentucky.

If Joe doesn't recognize what country we're in, he need look no farther than his own party to see the people who destroyed the tradition of the peaceful transition of power.
