A Navy veteran could lose his home in a dispute over a flagpole

A Navy veteran who installed a pole in his yard to fly the American flag is now in danger of losing his home because of it.

Reed Herman’s home in the Wright County city of St. Michael has been foreclosed upon by the homeowners association for his development, and the house will be sold for the highest cash offer at a sheriff’s auction Oct. 7.

The Preserve West Townhome Association claims it’s selling the home, valued at around $300,000, to recover about $6,600 in legal fees and other costs associated with the fight over Herman’s flagpole, which the association maintains was installed in violation of the rules Herman agreed to live by when he bought a home in the development.

HOA nazis...reads like the vet tried to take appropriate measures and subsequently reach a settlement, but they're not budging.  Aholes.

XenaLee:
So, send a proxy in to purchase the home for Herman, and then set up a GoFundMe account for Herman to recoup that $6k+, and to get money to sue the HOA.  I can't see any court of law siding with the HOA over a damned flagpole installation.  Petty tyrants need to be 'put down'.

Gefn:
My mother’s HOA told her this year she had planted too many flowers in the flower bed.  Please remove.

She laughed and said in a week the deer would eat them anyway so she just wanted to enjoy them until then and besides, planting them in quarantine made her happy,

Lo and behold, The deer ate em all.

Strange she can do what ever she wants in the back yard but they get pissy about the front yard.

Ok.   I'll ask (knowing full well that there is no rhyme or reason behind these petty tyrants' edicts).

How can you have "too many" flowers in your own yard?
