John Kasich: Pro-lifers should set aside their pro-life beliefs for the sake of unity
By Cassy Fiano-Chesser | September 15, 2020 , 10:42am

Former GOP presidential candidate and past Ohio Governor John Kasich appeared on “The View” this week, speaking with Meghan McCain about his belief that it is time for pro-lifers to set aside their pro-life beliefs for the sake of societal unity.

The exchange, which begins at approximately 4:10 in the following video, began with McCain discussing her reluctance to vote for candidates who do not share her pro-life beliefs. “You’re pro-life, and I know that. You were pro-life in politics, as am I,” McCain said. “It’s a big part of who I am and my platform, and I don’t think taxpayers should be funding abortions for women who are as pregnant as I am right now. How would you push back against a voter like me who’s concerned about things like this in a possible Biden-Harris administration?”

Hey John...I have a better idea.   For the sake of unity...

why don't you and the other leftists/Democrats link arms and continue that tap dance down Jackass Lane on your way to Hell.  But do it silently.  STFU, IOW.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
Thanks you John for that lone voice from the tunnel of time to the distant 70's Rockefeller Republican past.

Yeah we saw what sacrificing morals for unity does in 1940's Germany.

I much rather face my Lord and Savior having fought for the innocent and lost than having surrendered to evil.

I'm Pro-Life, but not a single-issue voter. That said, what would a President Biden be? His stances, the the degree has any on which he hasn't flip-flopped are basically all the opposite of my views. And "unity" with people who hate me and attack people of my views? For me a vote for Biden would be like a sheep surrendering to a pack of ravenous wolves.

Elitist RINOs like Kasich obviously think people like me are stupid, but we're not. This bit of Kasich-ian stupidity illustrates why he was on my Oh Hell NO! list among R candidates in 2016.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Kasich's basic argument is that we must give into the Dems' blackmail about the chaos ("division" is the code word)  that they will unleash if Trump is reelected.  They will not accept the results of the election and don't give a phuck.

Kasich has always been about compromise and consensus to move the country rightward.   He thinks that's the American way and knows the Dems don't give a phuck.   He bends over because he deems it patriotic, to save the center and the peace.

It is the peace sought by Chamberlain and Von Papen.

I think there's also an element of self interest there - Trump's DC is not the same place Kasich made his bones in. Like many others finding themselves out in the cold with Trump's election he wants a return to the good ol' days.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
