Lancaster protesters held on whopping $1 million bail each after alleged riots
12 adults, 1 juvenile charged for allegedly rioting early Monday
By Lia Eustachewich | New York Post

A Pennsylvania judge threw the book at several protesters – setting their bail at $1 million each – for allegedly rioting in the wake of the police shooting of a knife-wielding Lancaster man.

Lancaster police nabbed a dozen people and one juvenile for staging the riots around 3 a.m. Monday in clashes that culminated in police deploying tear gas at the crowd.

The overnight violence came on the heels of the death of Ricardo Munoz, the mentally ill 27-year-old who was seen on body cam footage charging at a cop with a knife in hand. The officer shot and killed Munoz Sunday afternoon outside his mother’s house in downtown Lancaster.

Top Line: Yoshua Dwayne Montague, Kathryn Patterson, Barry Jones and Frank Gaston Bottom Line: Jamal Shariff Newman, Matthew Modderman, Talia Gessner and Taylor Enterline (Lancaster PD)

Magisterial District Judge Bruce A. Roth set bail for nine of the defendants – Newman, Jones, Montague, Modderman, Gessner, Patterson, Enterline, Fry and Davis – at $1 million apiece, with court records showing all were unable to post.

They’re being held at the Lancaster County Prison.

Bail information was not available for Lopez and bail was set at $100,000 for Wise, who was also unable to post.

Police said Gaston was on probation and a detainer would be lodged against him.

Social justice advocacy group Lancaster Stands Up claimed Patterson and Enterline were working as a “medics” at the Munoz protest when they were arrested.

“The absurdly high bail amounts indicate that what we’re seeing is not a measured pursuit of justice, but a politically motivated attack on the movement for police reform and accountability,” the group tweeted.

I'm sure Daddy had that check written by the next day.  Otherwise, maybe Kalmeltoe Harris will throw her bail.

I will NOT comply.

Well, at the very least, the Magistrate has decided to cash in on the bail funds the Communists have set up

Thank you, Judge Roth.  Well done.  (Recall the arsonist who was bailed out and started 6 more fires.)

Shameful. Just in case anyone wondered what was wrong with America's colleges and universities.

Lancaster judge to revisit $1 million bail set for accused rioters
By Tamar Lapin
September 16, 2020 | 9:49pm

A Lancaster County, Pa., judge is expected to revisit the whopping $1 million bail set for each of several accused rioters after some of them hired private attorneys and filed petitions protesting the amount, according to a report on Wednesday.

Magisterial District Judge Bruce Roth said he would hold bail hearings on Thursday now that each of the nine defendants have secured counsel, Lancaster Online reported.

“I want all the defendants to be treated equally, so I tried to procure attorneys for all of them, so they could all have bail hearings at the same time,” Roth said. ...

I really don't care what Pennsylvania's doper Lt. Gov. has to say on the issue, but that's just me.

Just a symptom, not the disease. The disease is worse, and reaches far deeper. Systemic Communism.
