Historian predicts Trump downplaying pandemic will go down as 'the greatest dereliction of duty' in presidential history
By J. Edward Moreno - 09/10/20 08:22 PM EDT

Allan Lichtman, the historian known for accurately predicting presidential elections, said that President Trump’s downplaying of the coronavirus pandemic will be remembered as “the greatest dereliction of duty” in presidential history.

“This is the greatest dereliction of duty in the history of the U.S. presidency,” Lichtman, a professor of history at American University, told CTV News Channel on Thursday.

Lichtman was responding to claims made in veteran journalist Bob Woodward’s forthcoming book “Rage.”

Woodward’s book, which is set to publish on Sept. 15, builds upon 17 interviews with the president, including one in which Trump said COVID-19 was "deadly" in early February, and later told the author he intentionally minimized its seriousness in public to avoid causing panic.

He predicted algore for the win. The good Prof Lost on a technicality.  But a loss is a loss.

@mystery-ak

I will have Woodward's book this coming Tuesday.
I have Allan Lichtman's book for 2020.  The Al Gore situation is in there.  The Supreme Court stopped the counting in Florida, heard arguments, called Bush the victor.  If one reads the 13 principles, it has correctly chosen presidents going back generations.
Allan predicted Trump would win in 2016 and few believed him.  This time, he predicts Trump will lose.

Make all the excuses you wish but in the end The results are the same. A loss is a loss and algore lost.

All of this negativity towards Trump.  Are you supporting him this time around?  Or are you supporting the socialist/communist like my brother and his family are?

If true the GOP in Texas will soon be joining the GOP in California as a irrelevant anachronism. Eventually Texans will find themselves enjoying the same kinds of policies and standard of living of Californians living in states with democrat supermajorities.

What the USSC shut down was an attempt to change vote recognition standards in the middle of an election that would make the standards for some counties different than for others, both patently illegal and unconstitutional.

I posted this on another discussion site, but it's worth re-posting here. Cumulatively, starting last February, I've probably spent dozens of man-hours researching, accumulating, and compiling information about Covid-related events, actions, and public statements, especially Trump Administration statements and actions. My full timeline is linked in my signature, and it grows significantly every week or so as new stuff happens and/or I find more information about past doings. The bottom lines are easily summarized, though:

* The Trump Administration was taking action within and sometimes a bit beyond what was known at the time, starting January 4th; two major actions were the start on January 17th of arriving passenger screening and the shutdown of travel from China, effective February 2nd;

* The Trump Administration spoke clearly and early about the seriousness of Covid-19, starting with the CDC's Travel Notice (Level 1 on January 6th; Level 3 on January 27th) and the January 8th CDC Alert to physicians to ask certain patients whether they had been to Wuhan; on January 29th Trump announced his Coronavirus Task Force; on January 31st Trump declared a Public Health Emergency and the State Department issued a Level 4 "Do Not Travel" Advisory for China. And much more, all before the Woodward interviews.

Even these clear simple facts can't be fully appreciated unless one sees them in the context of the deceptions of China and WHO (linked below in my signature) and of the Dems' Donkey Brayings. Conversely, consider how the public might (mis)perceive Trump's communications and actions given the context of Dems' and Dem-led-cities' public health officials undermining and condemning what Trump communicated and did! FUD Kills.

And the Dems are using FUD tactics against Covid-19 treatments (e.g. HCQ) and the soon-to-be-approved vaccines. FUD Kills!

And he did it while being impeached. I remember rats at the time were accusing him of trying to change the subject.

Some historical revisionism going on here.
Yes, SCOTUS said enough is enough, but when the final voters were tallied 100% (or as close as Chad would let them get) after that, Bush did win.

By the way, why was everyone concerned about Chad Everett?
He seemed kind of harmless to me.

I knew at the time that as soon as it didn't matter, the Rats will quit manufacturing votes.  If the SCOTUS hadn't stepped in, then Gore would have had more "votes" in the end, not Bush.
