Trump reverses, encourages vote by mail — in Florida

It wasn't so safe and secure back when Goober was running against Boy Jorge,and had people like JJ and "The Rev,Al Sharpton" taking busloads of NYC blacks down to Florida to help them register Dim voters in Florida prisons and ghettos.

I agree @sneakypete Florida was a mess in 2000  ... but  it did give the democrats some insight into how to steal votes.   

My understanding is Florida's come a long way.  They've cleaned up their voter rolls and because of the large retiree population they've developed a sound absentee/vote by mail system.  The state takes care of this population ... as we also saw in the protection provided them when COVID hit.

I worked with Florida Sec. of State Harris about military ballots - not the felon problem.  Here is what happened that caused legal voters to be taken off the voter list that involved ex-felons.

"Before the election, Florida sent its county election supervisors a list of 58,000 alleged felons to purge from the voting rolls. Florida was one of eight states that prevented ex-felons from voting."

The people doing the purging did not use exact name matches when looking for ex-felons to remove from the voter list.  Due to that, some legal voter names were removed from the list assuming the names were the same ex-felon person.

Isn't he supposed to be a religious minister?  Perhaps he sent them into prison to pray for the prisoner's soul?  I don't think the Florida prison system would let any of them in a prison. 

Here is another reason those people could not register a person to vote:
In a county, if a person wants to collect applications to register to vote from people, they have to be licensed by the clerk or elections administrator to take applications.  They get the application blanks and when they find a person who wants to be a voter, the perspective voter completes the application and sends the application to the county office, or the person with the applications may take the completed applications back to the office.  Then, the election administrator will check the application to see if that person is eligible to become a voter.

You can bet your ass there were be protests and demonstrations,and most likely outright riots outside of the broadcast company headquarters in NYC. ALL the news talking heads would be screaming for that shows license to broadcast to be pulled and fines to be paid.

In addition to encouraging absentee voting.... I think Trump should be encouraging early voting.   Election booths could be set up for the entire month of October ... and spaced 6' apart... with the same metering of folks allowed into the building that has already been in place in past general elections.  Masks could be provided at the door for anyone that does not have one.  It ain't rocket science... except to Democrats.  It would give folks plenty of time to get their vote in, no postal service needed.  Employers could be instructed to allow employees off one day in October to go "early vote".....and there could even be a voting carpool (transporation provided) to the closest voting location.   If that is done, no excuses or accusations of "voter discrimination or disenfranchisement" will work for the Democrats.

Yes, but.... there's that double standard of behavior that the right is always held to... and that the left gets a free pass on.   Voting more than once has become a "right" in the tiny little minds of your average Democrat voter.

Applications to register to vote are turned down all the time.  Every application is processed to determine if that person is qualified to be a voter in that county.

You are going to believe whatever you read on the web, instead of believing how a county runs an election going by their Election Code.

I ran a "register people to vote" program.
I was a member of the "Texas Republican Women".  I was in charge of running the program for some of them to register new voters.  They had their papers to register voters from the county where they lived. I was giving a speech at one of their meetings and had, before the speech, thought of a way to find more Republicans than Democrats to register. 

I told them to go to GUN SHOWS.
In Texas, gun shows were huge and most of those there would be Republicans.  I told them to stand not far from where they came in the show and get new voters then; get the applications out to them.

You are right. It can NOT happen if the election officials do their jobs correctly.

The problem,whether you want to believe it or not is that there are some areas of the country where the election officials,as well as the LEO's and judges are so corrupt the election officials can state publicly they are violating their oaths because they know they won be prosecuted.

It is a historic FACT that during LBJ's first run for office in Texas for a local office the local sheriff went on the local radio station the week before he was to appear before a grand jury,and talking about how he had evidence of voter fraud,and how he was going to present it to the grand jury.

The very next day he committed suicide by shooting himself in the BACK.

BTW,LBJ obviously won the election,and I read that he got more votes than there were registered voters.

I'm not so sure that FL is so prepared and ready. In 2018 part of the corruption was in the hands of the Supervisor of  Elections Brenda Snipes in Broward County. She stated that she was resigning and then later said she was not going to resign so she was suspended and replaced. However last I had heard the newly appointed Supervisor of Elections, Antonacci stated that he had no plans to run in 2020 for that position. So, I'm not quite sure if he will oversee the 2020 Elections in Broward County or who will fill that spot. 2 DEMS are running for that position (there may be others). Snipes wasn't terminated she was only suspended.  That was the county with the biggest corruption focus but there were others.

IMHO if Trump is relying on DeSantis to ensure that the kinks have been worked out in FL, Trump would be wise to double check him.  DeSantis is Trump's ace in the hole here, but he's proven to be incompetent.

LBJ went to Southwest Texas College in San Marcos, Texas.  My husband's father, last name Derrick, was an English professor there and had LBJ in his class both for freshman and sophomore years.  Then, LBJ was the editor of the college paper and Derrick was in charge of that so the two of them became friends from then on.  During that time Derrick became President of the University.  When Derrick died, LBJ went to his funeral in San Marcos.
