'Absolutely': Chris Christie considering presidential bid in 2024

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie might toss his hat back in the presidential ring in 2024.
Christie, who ran for president in 2016, told the Washington Post that he is still considering a presidential bid in the future. He said that he is still involved in political life and has plenty of time left in his career to consider such a move.
"I certainly wouldn't foreclose any possibility, right? So, might I consider running? Sure, absolutely. I'm 57 years old. I still am very involved in political life and public life in this country and have a lot of opinions about where the country should be headed and how it should be managed," Christie said on Friday.
"So I certainly wouldn't discount, you know, me running again in 2024," he added.
Christie acknowledged that Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has toyed with the idea of running for president as a Republican in 2024 as well. Christie said he would consider supporting Hogan because he's a "wonderful guy" and a "good friend."
"If I decided not to [run] and Larry decided to run himself, he certainly was someone near the top of the list for me to consider supporting in that regard," Christie said. "But man, I think the election's a good distance off. 2024 is light-years away, so who knows what's going to happen?"
Bill Stepien, Christie's former campaign manager and chief of staff, was recently chosen to be campaign manager for President Trump's 2020 election.
