Herman Cain, a former presidential hopeful who was once considered by President Donald Trump for the Federal Reserve, has died after being hospitalized with the coronavirus. He was 74.

Cain was among the highest-profile public figures in the United States to have died from Covid-19. A 74-year-old survivor of stage 4 colon cancer, Cain had been a business executive and the board chairman of a branch of Kansas City’s Federal Reserve Bank before moving into Republican politics and eventually becoming a presidential candidate.

Last year, President Donald Trump briefly considered picking Cain as his nominee to join the Federal Reserve Board. Cain remained a vocal supporter of Trump’s after his nomination was withdrawn, and he attended the president’s controversial reelection rally in Oklahoma in June, shortly before being diagnosed with the coronavirus.

He survived Stage 4 cancer, but apparently his immune system was still compromised.  Sad... and he will be missed.

RIP Mr. Cain! You more than earned that!

I wonder if his funeral will be anything like that going on today in Atlanta?  As far as I'm concerned it should.

My friend Herman Cain, a Powerful Voice of Freedom and all that is good, passed away this morning. Herman had an incredible career and was adored by everyone that ever met him, especially me. He was a very special man, an American Patriot, and great friend. I just got off...

...the phone with his amazing wife Gloria, daughter, Melanie, and son Vincent to express my deepest condolences to the entire family. @FLOTUS Melania and I loved Herman Cain, a great man. Herman, Rest In Peace!

Herman Cain was a man of principle and character rarely found today.

I was fortunate to have gotten to know him years ago before he became famous. May he rest in peace! He more than earned it.

Will he receive a royal funeral like the Other guy?

Herman Cain Earned his way while the Other guy did nothing except live off of MLK's legacy and soak the taxpayers!

The Other guy was nothing like MLK, he was just another racist elitist who enjoyed fanning the flames of racial division!

Think I'll just set a spell, just to think.
Great loss to America.

I was telling a friend of mine a few hours before the news of Mr. Cain 's passing was announced that I'm glad I'm not rich and/or famous.  All the pomp and ceremony for Mr. Lewis.   And he was carried around from place to place.    Not me.  When it's my time, I want to be buried as soon as possible and be done with it.  No visitation, no service, no reception afterwards.  The time to honor someone and be good to him or her is when that person is alive, not when he or she is dead.

Maybe Mr. Cain's arrangements will be more subdued.  I hope so.

Me too, man.
I want to be cremated and gone.
Mostly because of my view of time.
If time is, more or less, infinite?
Then no matter where I am buried, eventually in 10,000 years or so, a city will be built over me and I will be 'discovered', excavated, and studied by future archaeologists. I'll pass on all that.
Ashes to ashes...is good enough for me.

Friend Defends Herman Cain from Trump Rally Criticism and Insists He Did Take Coronavirus Seriously

Quote
Here is what Herman Cain's friend and colleague Dan Calabrese, who announced his death to the world on Thursday morning, would like to say about criticism that Cain treated the novel coronavirus flippantly — only weeks before it killed him.
...
"To me, where he got it, it’s kind of neither here nor there. But I wish people would stop trying to turn it into a political angle in that way," Calabrese, the editor of Cain's website, tells PEOPLE.

"This is such a partisan age and people get defined by where they stood on the political spectrum and I’m sure a lot of people will define Herman in that way," Calabrese says. "That was so much not who he was. His favorite thing to do was to help people see a way forward in their lives."
...
Cain had traveled widely before he got sick, Calabrese says.

"I want people to know he did a lot of traveling that week, he traveled to Vegas, he was gonna go to Arizona and I think his flight got redirected. He was on several flights," Calabrese says. "The whole conclusion that people are jumping to that he got it at the Tulsa rally — I think that a lot of people are jumping to that conclusion because they want to, but we have no reason to think he got it there as opposed to some of the airplanes he might have been on."
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Who wants to rot in a box...

Hey -- whatever floats your boat.  I was raised Catholic and there was a time when the church forbade cremation.  Now I understand the prohibition has been lifted.  Great!  I think people should make up their own minds as to disposition of their remains.

I just don't like all the hoopla when someone dies.  Too each his own there too,  I guess.  It's just not something I want for myself.

Don't much care once I vacate... Just a sack of meat. I have a better than average chance of winding up bear poop anyway.
