First masks.  Then shields.  By November, the only thing that will protect you from catching covid will be a vote for Joe Biden.
Hey, the Supreme Court has already said states can order electors who to vote for. The next step is naturally ordering the general public.

Besides getting in your eyes, it can also, get into your ear canal.  We've had other flu's. This is over the top, and won't stop anything.  In OREGON, anyone black, does NOT have to wear a face mask, as it is discriminatory.  Then anyone with a medical condition, like needing oxygen, do not need to wear a mask.  Then anyone who RIOTS....does not need to worry about any mask, except to hide their identity.

If a paper and/or cloth mask doesn't block the virus when it is floating in the air. Why would an eye shield help?

Where are the actual scientific studies that say any of this works with a virus in the air?

All just claims based on positions of authority and nothing more.

Science has nothing to do with it. Don't be surprised if Brix and Fauci next solemnly tell us that the best way to ward off the virus is wearing different color socks and standing on your head at least twice a day.

You'd better hope they can;t find a way to say farts spread Woohan... Or all y'all will be walking around with mufflers sticking out of your butts.

@roamer_1

Remember cow farts being an "environmental concern" back a few decades ago?

Your post reminded me of that.

I wonder who the cattle association had to bribe to get that to die down?

People have this all wrong about viral transmission. The real problem is not covid infecting people, it’s politics infecting covid.

It never DID stop... It's just sublimated by the volume of other things the left also claims.

@Hoodat

I have COPD and my lungs and stomach are filled with fluid from cancer,so I can't wear a face mask. Wearing one makes it impossible for me to breathe.

So I broke out my Lincoln Welding "flip face mask" with the shatterproof shield I used to use to grind or cut meal and to weedwack with,and started wearing it. It allows me to breathe what I laughingly call "normally".

They now seem to be in such high demand there were none to be found in stock on amazon or ebay when I went to buy one as a gift for a friend,and had to order one and wait for it to come in. The few places on the web that still had any in stock were getting up to 50 percent over retail for the ones they were selling.

My welding mask would probably offer great protection from the Vid but I'm afraid I'd wander out into traffic & get hit by a car.

As a safety health and enviromental manager  at petrochemical facility, we managed the use of PPE, and its requirements.  There were cases and needs to use face shields.  ALL require that subject be stationary, and remove periodically for self orientation.

You want people hurt? Watch a store load of people walking around with masks and fogged up face shields falling and hurting themselves. Do people think these things through?

@catfish1957

The ones used by professional welders/metal workers like mine have anti-fogging face shields. They are also shatter-proof.

@skeeter

Uhhh,this is NOT a welding face plate. It is clear plastic,although you CAN get a tinted one for stuff like brazing with gas. Welders use this by wearing welding goggles UNDER it,and the face shield protects your face from sparks/slag. That's why it is rated as being shatterproof.

Still,you mostly see them being used by people grinding or operating milling machines or lathes in machine shops because they protect the face and eyes from flying shrapnel.

The Lincoln shield I own retails for right at 30 bucks in normal times,but I see them for sale at up to 50 bucks,plus shipping some places.

VERY comfortable with a padded headband,and you can adjust the shield to sit at any angle you want,and even flip it up to get it out of the way if you don't need it. I sometimes find myself forgetting I am even wearing it when the face shield is flipped up.

Likely true.  If the Dems win,  they will own the economy they murdered.

Gov. Cuomo unapologetically never wears a mask. Yet again he’s delaying opening up New York because...well, just because he can—because it could damage Trump.

LOL!  And the country will come crawling back to Republicans in 2022....

(If the Rats "own" an economy, they'll deny it three times by the time the cock crows.  They take "ownership" of nothing.)
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16

Yeah.   Today's "hearing" is just another opportunity for the DemocRats to 'bash Trump' on his handling of the stupid virus.   (blood pressure going up as we speak)

jk. In my area Chinese have been wearing tinted face shields in lieu of sunglasses for years. They're way ahead of the curve, apparently.

So what?

There will be no one in office to criticize them or call them on it,and they will just happily continue to blame it on Trump.

Yes, I agree. I am one fo those who has low oxygen. I just got out of hospital and I run about 86.  They want it 90 & above, so I had to wear an oxygen line into the nose. I understand.  Some times, I take some deep breathes to get in more oxygen.  I can tell by looking at my lips.  If they run a little blue....I am low.  Then normally, if my heart is working properly, my lips are berry red.  Weird.  I could pass out, wearing a mask.
