Itâ€™s the first time the president has publicly suggested pushing back the November vote.

In his latest tweet pushing his entirely unproven theory that mail-in ballots make elections more susceptible to voter fraud, Trump wrote: â€œWith Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???â€

Trump has no legal authority to follow through on the proposal.

Agreed. If you thought 2000 election results were a cluster duck, this election results - no matter who wins - it will be tied up so long with recounts it will make 2000 look like a cakewalk.
I am sure who ever looses will not be gracious in defeat. Even if itâ€™s something like the 1984 election with votes, if it happens to be by mail in ballots.

Absentee voting is when a verified, registered voter requests a mail in ballot...
Mail in voting is when a blank ballot is mailed to every house in the state/country and whoever receives it fills it out.... yea,, real secure... I see Trumps point..

how do you think the people in the army voted during world war 2...mail voting is nothing new. He is making a big deal out of it because internal numbers are showing he is screwed, sadly he is taking conservatives along with him. The trump project will set back conservatives 100 years.

POTUS set this up with a series of tweets yesterday and today, including a video, on the perils of mail-in (not absentee) voting. The tweets are posted in the Elections 2020 section/Tweets and Social media.

Remember, in States with mail-in voting the ballots go out to everyone in September --- so there's no time to dilly dally.

Apples to oranges @Weird Tolkienish Figure No one was installing mail-in voting in 2008 or 2012. Mail in---not absentee voting. An absentee ballot is triggered by a request and is vetted prior to distributing the ballot. Mail-in voting is the blanket, unrequested and unvetted distribution of a ballot to every adult in the state---dead and alive, current or former address. And Pelosi is still pushing to count any vote received up to three weeks after election day. It's ballot harvesting on steroids. Every time I write that a little of my head explodes in disbelief.

And still unsettled is whether or not some districts in a given state will have both in-person and mail-in voting. BOTH, During the special election in CA25 back in May, when democrats realized Garcia was winning the mail-in vote, the State opened in-person voting booths in selected sections (minority) of the district. Garcia still won --- the dims won't let this happen again.

The President has been tweeting and talking about the problems with mail-in voting for more than six months --- a clarion call against massive voter fraud. And now he's finally gotten everyone's attention.

I disagree. This was calculated ... and the proof is found in his tweets about mail-in voting leading up to his delay question.

The potential for massive, and I mean massive, voter fraud is real. We all know it .... including the President ... who's trying to do something to minimize it.
