Authorities believe an attorney found dead in New York Monday was the shooter who killed a New Jersey federal judge's son and wounded her husband a day earlier, law enforcement sources with knowledge of the case tell News 4.

The man's body was found on a property in the Sullivan County town of Rockland, near Liberty, which is in the New York Catskills. One senior law enforcement official says authorities are looking into whether there was a package or envelope addressed to the judge found near the man, who may have died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. The official said the FBI, US Marshals and police were at the scene, while a vehicle the man was thought to have been using is being searched at a nearby State Police barracks.

They are also investigating whether a gun found at the scene matches the one used to kill Judge Esther Salas' son and wound her husband, law enforcement sources say. Two sources described the dead man as an attorney who filed various sorts of civil lawsuits over the years; no other details were available.

Let's have the suspected perp's name.

Another media source.  Apparently, has nothing to do with Epstein, although some around here won't believe it.

Gunman who shot N.J. judge’s son to death and wounded her husband is lawyer who once had case before her: reports

Quote
The gunman, dressed as a FedEx delivery driver, who shot and critically wounded the husband of a federal judge in New Jersey and killed her son is believed to be a lawyer who had a case before the judge in 2015, according to reports.

After knocking on the North Brunswick, N.J. home of U.S. District Judge Esther Salas, and riddling her husband and son with bullets, the killer appears to have taken his life in Liberty, N.J., according to ABC.

Roy Den Hollander, a well-known men’s rights attorney and self-described “anti-feminist,” is suspected of being the gunman who shot the husband and son of New Jersey federal Judge Esther Salas in the doorway of the family’s home in North Brunswick.

Authorities have not released Hollander’s name publicly. Daily Beast first reported the name via law enforcement sources. Multiple news outlets are reporting that the suspected shooter is a lawyer.

Hollander had long involved himself in unusual and publicity seeking men’s rights causes. In 2016, Hollander sued various national news reporters in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, including Chuck Todd of NBC’s Meet the Press, New York Times’ commentator David Brooks, and Major Garrett of CBS. He accused them of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act by allegedly committing “wire fraud” because he wrote they created and caused “to be broadcast and disseminated false and misleading news reports concerning the Donald J. Trump candidacy for President of the United States.” You can see the full complaint here.

Thanks, all!

As with virtually every "breaking news" piece, no actual 'truth' is contained in the race to get to the telephone booths (like in the old days of reporting)

The Daily Mail reported earlier today that the husband had done pro-bono cases for "The Bloods".

At first I thought it was pure intimidation to get a favorable ruling or even a recusal in the Deutsche Bank case which led me to believe had Epstein's child pornography blackmail/extortion of famous people visiting and filmed at his "Fantasy Island".

@PeteS in CA    LOL!  Go back to sleep.

Gunman dressed as FedEx deliveryman shoots husband and son of federal judge Esther Salas at their New Jersey home, killing the son. Salas was in the basement and not injured.

FYI.... Jeffrey Epstein Deutsche Bank case assigned to Judge Salas just two days ago.

I don't know if anyone remembers it, but in 2015 we had a BLMer in Dallas kill 7 cops in one night. How come the media hasn't mentioned that one?

Anyone remember that incident?

Yeah. I also remember the NFL forbid the Dallas Cowboys from adorning their uniforms with markers of respect for those officers.

When facts inconvenience a preferred narrative, go with the facts. At this point, sounds like the killer was a POed vexatious litigant rather than someone connected to the Epstein mess.
Dead attorneys make great suspects (and they can't represent themselves, either).

For the progressive, there is very little to love about the United States. Washington, Jefferson, Madison? A bunch of rotten slaveholders, hypocrites, and cowards even when their hearts were in the right places. The Declaration of Independence? A manifesto for the propertied classes. The Constitution? An artifact of sexism and white supremacy. The sacrifices in the great wars of the 20th century? Feeding the poor and the disenfranchised into the meat-grinder of imperialism. The gifts of Carnegie, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, Morgan, Astor? Blood money from self-aggrandizing robber barons. Nat Rev

About the apparent perp (has it been confirmed he did it?):

https://heavy.com/news/2020/07/roy-den-hollander-book-esther-salas/

New Jersey Murder Suspect Roy Den Hollander’s Book Trashed Judge Esther Salas

Quote
Roy Den Hollander, the men’s rights attorney and self-described “anti-feminist,” insulted federal Judge Esther Salas and repeatedly referred to her race in an online book before authorities suspect he showed up at her door and shot her husband and son, killing the latter.

He called the judge “a lazy and incompetent Latina judge appointed by Obama,” called her “hot,” checked out her biography, and wrote that he “wanted to ask the Judge out, but thought she might hold me in contempt.” He also criticized her handling of a case in which he was an attorney challenging the male-only military draft in her court.
...
It wasn’t only Judge Salas who was the object of Den Hollander’s ire in his online writings. In some of his online writings, he expressed hatred for his mother. He called judges appointed by Obama “Obamite bigots.”

The dedication page to his self-published book says that his mother should burn in hell.
...
According to a New York Times article, Hollander once “sued the federal government over a law that protects women from violence.” He also called Columbia University’s women’s studies program “a bastion of bigotry against men” and said it “demonizes men and exalts women in order to justify discrimination against men based on collective guilt.”

He alleged in court that parts of the federal Violence Against Women Act were unconstitutional.

Sounds like he was the kind of bigot Hillary claimed 1/4 of US voters are.

The guy is also a suspect in this case:

Crestline attorney's murder may be linked to shooting at NJ judge's home

Quote
CRESTLINE, Calif. (KABC) -- The murder of an attorney in Crestline earlier this month bears similarities and may be linked to the shooting of a judge's son and husband in New Jersey, law enforcement sources say.

Attorney Marc Angelucci, 52, was gunned down at his home on Saturday July 11 around 4 p.m. Deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 22400 block of Glenwood Drive and found Angelucci there, unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is believed the shooter was wearing a FedEx uniform.

Angelucci was a men's rights activist and board member of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Coalition for Men.
