Which kinda leaves me wondering what the families of the ones that were buried think about their relatives being buried alive.

Most of them wouldn't know true history until they were about 2 seconds from being history.

Well,there was a black exploitation flick about the Red Tails,with an almost all-black cast of big names.

I even watched it myself. Maybe not THE biggest bunch of crap ever put out by Hollywood,but it was a contender.

For example,did you know that black pilots were so good there was NEVER a bomber they escorted that got shot down by the Germans?

Implying,of course,they were SOOO much better than the cracka pilots,who had bombers they were escorting shot down all the time.

I never did hear an explanation on how black fighter pilots could keep AA fire from hitting the bombers,so I am guessing it was "Black Magic".

That whole movie should have been kicked off by the words "Once upon a time......",like all good fairy tales.

The people who propagate myths like this are doing the vets they are trying to deify a huge disservice. Their record shows that once they began escorting raids those guys did no better or worse than other fighter groups.

Instead, in the future those who investigate, instead of honoring them for their service, will conclude the Red Tails fudged their record.

Whenever media or Hollywood are involved, the most likely sources of inaccuracy are the media or Hollywood, themselves.
