It's tragic that the young woman's actions led to her death. It is sad that the law was not enforced and the protesters removed from the Interstate Highway.

I'm not sure what the speed limits are on the Interstate there, but here 75 is normal, in Wyoming, 80. It's hard to maneuver around people at those speeds, and the presence of undamaged vehicles across traffic lanes can't be a good thing. Not something you'd want to stop for (for some of us, Reginald Denny's fate left an indelible mark).

At some point, though, it isn't a question of agreeing or disagreeing with protests, it comes down to how much you can alter the path of a vehicle at speed, and who is, by their own option, in the way.
Sadly, if more physics and less social victimhood were taught in schools today, perhaps those in the middle of the road would have reconsidered that position and not been there.

Need to get something off my chest. We should not be celebrating the death of a protester and singing praises to the driver. Stands against every word written on the front of a MAGA hat. And we shout "ALL LIVES MATTER", but do we really mean it when we makes jokes about the horrific death of a protester, even one breaking the law.  Granted not all are doing it, and the worse most shameful comments are seen on Facebook. But we need to be better than that. We need to be to be the Shining light on the hill not in the gutter with the worse on the other side.

The driver who tried this same stunt a week ago but was stopped according WSP should be charged for her murder not defended by anyone on the Right.

The freeway is closed 2 miles north of the Olive Way exit where this occurred. The WSP has closed it each night for 19 nights to allow for this temper tantrum on the freeway. Do I agree they should be aloud on the freeway? Hell No. But this was NOT someone trying to commute peacefully to work. This is the second time he drove through WSP baracades.

Yeah, I heard that too - That in itself is not motive - If they had blocked entrances to the freeway around here, I can see me going up an exit if getting home counted on it fairly.

Driving a motorized vehicle on an Interstate highway is now considered a "stunt"?  Perhaps the WSP should have done something to prevent pedestrians from loitering on an Interstate highway for 19 days in a row (which actually IS a violation of law).

My initial reaction to the vid, I did not think he meant to. He's flying low, and when he comes around the car barricades he is seeing the 'protesters' for the first time... He rolls wide, and then there's a wiggle... I don't know if that is over-correction or brakes, though I assume over correction - It SEEMS he tried to go wide, beyond the girls, but his speed and turn would not let him go that far.

That was my initial thought. I STILL find that hard to square with 'deliberate', which is why I do not hold your info at face value (no offense toward you at all)... But I have to give it credit.

Wrong way on the ramp: You would know better than me, but the story is that he was going up an exit... I reckon that like something I did down in KC back in the day... They shut off the freeway due to ice and snow, closing the inlets. But they did not close the exits OFF the freeway... SO I went the wrong way down an exit ramp, turned hard, and was going the proper direction on the closed freeway.

Summer Taylor, 24, and their friend, Diaz Love, were hit by a car at high speed during a Black Lives Matter protest on Seattle's Interstate 5.

The road had been closed to drivers to allow the demonstration to take place.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
