As noble as was the McCloskey's effort to defend their property (the first time), and as right as their cause may be, they are "marked people" now.
Short of erecting a homeowner's version of The Berlin Wall, sooner or later they are going to be attacked with enough force that they may not be able to sufficiently defend themselves against such attack.
These are not poor folks. They have the means to find a safe place elsewhere (even out-of-state if that's where they have to go).
They had best start searching for it.
