Russia, Russia, Russia! Democrats revive Trump-Putin narrative in wake of 'bounty' claim

Democratic lawmakers have brought back to life the claim that President Trump is in the pocket of Russian President Vladimir Putin and is actively working to help Russia to the detriment of U.S national security interests.
Democrats had largely shelved attacks on the president related to Russia in the past few months and have instead focused on criticizing Trump over his handling of the coronavirus and the nationwide civil unrest relating to police treatment of black people.
But Democrats dusted off the Trump-Russia claims after several media outlets reported Russia offered Taliban militants bounties to kill U.S. and other coalition forces in Afghanistan.
Trump said he was not briefed on the claim, but Democrats said it’s a sign Trump is aligned with Putin and Russia, an accusation they have been making since before Trump took office.
