D.C. sues Exxon, BP, Shell, Chevron over climate
« on: June 26, 2020, 10:48:25 am »
Houston Chronicle by  James Osborne June 25, 2020

The District of Columbia sued Exxon Mobil and other large oil companies Thursday over their contribution to climate change, adding the nation's capital to a growing list of states seeking to hold the oil sector accountable.

In recent years large oil companies have become increasingly vocal about the need to address climate change,  but the suit tackles a long period when, despite warnings from their own scientists, oil executives openly questioned studies showing that greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels were warming the planet.

"For decades, these oil and gas companies spent millions to mislead consumers and discredit climate science in pursuit of profits,” Washington D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine said in a statement.

Tell the SOB's to pound sand.  Then pull out and let DC government and residents fuel up MD or VA.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Paint the streets BLM now this garbage.

DC is obviously given way too much money.
No punishment, in my opinion, is too great, for the man who can build his greatness upon his country's ruin~  George Washington

District of Columbia sues four oil majors for misleading consumers on climate change

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The attorney general for the District of Columbia on Thursday filed a lawsuit against Exxon Mobil Corp , BP Plc, Chevron Corp, and Royal Dutch Shell Plc for “systematically and intentionally misleading” consumers about the role their products play in causing climate change, the latest action by a U.S. attorney general against the oil and gas industry.
