Build him a ramp.  Or a set of stairs.  A ladder, even?  Animals are smarter than we think.  It's funny as hell watching my cats go up and down a ladder I have next to a 7 ft. "perch" for them when they're too lazy to jump...lol.

I know a fellow and his father. 3rd or 4th generation family owned business. Anyway the younger guy had an aluminum ramp, to help his dog into his truck.

I think the Weathertech auto accessory company has ads in auto magazines for their stuff, and online of course.

  • Are we there yet?
Once again, will someone explain to me what a "Karen" is and the origins of this creature?

I can't be the only one that doesn't know this.

The original Karen is a busybody bossy women that likes to lecture strangers on how to behave. Generally, it is a liberal woman espousing leftist talking points.   The left has tried to appropriate Karen because Karen memes generally made liberals look ridiculous. Now any women that reacts emotionally to their bullying or disagrees with them is a Karen

This thread kinda made me feel better re: dogs. I adore big dogs and am reluctant to get a small dog. I can't lift big dogs anymore if they need lifting.  And all my "lifting" neighbors are older than me.

AND!! I found out what a Karen is.

I have an awful lot of WTF?? for that lady.

Regardless of skin color, of economic situation, no two people have exactly the same experience in life. Not even twins.

So saying that one person (generalized because they are white) can't understand the crappy experiences of someone else who has been shat upon (supposedly because they aren't white) is to deny the entire spectrum of personal experiences using a filter of skin color.

Sorry, lady, that's Racism.

I haven't even ascertained how there is any evidence of an existence of a "silent majority." I know Trump thinks he can channel 1970 Richard Nixon, but he ain't bringing back 1970 demographics.
Actually, all the 1970 vibe I am getting is from the Left, burning towns, protesting, KMA politics, and communism wrapped in race and topped with "FU whitey".

SSDD.

It angered  a significant portion of America then, and, at least in these parts, still does.

My neighbor still flies his Trump 2020 flag with impunity, right under Old Glory...

Schools and universities have been churning out so many widgets with such sick distorted attitudes, I have an unsettling suspicion this is the future of America.

It is sad to say that a Higher Education seems to involve the removal of the ability to exercise critical thinking instead of promote it.
It is even more sad that so many corporations seem determined to race to the flagpole to embrace this sh*t.

I can't vouch for the accuracy, but a friend told me today that book is required reading for white yutes in High School.

I have never preferred or wanted a Chihuahua...but that one there is probably one I would like.  I just don't allow my dogs to bark unless there's a good, real reason (or unless I'm teasing them). happy77
I was never a Chi dog person either, but we have fostered 3 that were AMAZING. None of them were yappy and each one of them just adored my wife. We have fostered about 25 dogs so far and only 2-3 were jerks/ @$$holes.

One of my buddies is a big badass biker dude... Gypsy leather and the whole 9...  Had him a chihuahua named Duke for shoot, maybe 20 years... Rode on the gas tank, or tucked up in a leather saddlebag.

Ol duke would show up at a shop and give the local junkyard dogs what-for... Never seemed to understand it wasn't him backin them dogs down... It was the Biker dude giving them the stink-eye... With that little bitty dog standing right between his legs...  :silly:

Well... I'm not good at building stuff (female, ya know)...
Can't say that in my classroom some of the best designed and built projects in my class have ben from the young ladies. Some of the worst have been from the young men that come in and say "My Daddy taught me....." My reply is something in the order of" "Yeah and why do they call him lefty?"

but I would get a piece of plywood, cover it with some carpet (staple-gun) and maybe brace it underneath with a cinder-block (painted, of course...lol).   Or... just three cinder blocks covered with fabric or carpet, assuming you have enough room next to the bed.
Woodsmith has plans for a simple set of steps that I built for our dogs years ago. If you like I can see about making a copy of the plan for you. @XenaLee

I would love a "classroom" teaching some of the DIY things I'd like to learn, but alas.... I'm on a different planet here in Dallas.  There is no such training here, unlike in my former home in Houston where you could learn anything fairly cheaply (Leisure Learning Magazine advertisements).

Yeah, a link to that would be great.  Thanks!

I've posted this before, but see:
- Antonio Gramsci
- The Frankfurt School
- Herbert Marcuse and "critical theory".

All part of the plan. And...
...It's working.
