HOW are young people supposed to be able to learn from history and not make the same mistakes,if we erase history because it's not considered PC?

Some historical figures need to be remembered as the BAD example of humanity they were,just like some need to be remembered for the positive things they said and did.

The statues of the good AND the evil in public squares serves to remind us all that both good and evil exist in all civilizations. Remove the statues,and you remove the reminders.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!

Because it has nothing to do with history or mistakes....
It has to do with power and removing national identity... right out of the pages of the ISIS handbook.
