Dem Rep. Green Calls for Creation of ‘Dept. of Reconciliation’ to ‘Eliminate Racism and Discriminati

In the wake of Rayshard Brooks’ death recently in Atlanta and George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis, both incidents involving law enforcement, Rep. Al Green (D-TX) took to MSNBC to call for the establishment of a “Department of Reconciliation.”

Green, on Saturday, said having a secretary of the Department of Reconciliation would work to “eliminate racism and discrimination in this country.”

“Black lives just don’t matter as much as white lives,” Green argued. “And this is something that can only be cured by quick reactions from mayors such as what the mayor of Atlanta has done. She’s done the right thing. And also, we have to have speedy arrests and speedy trials. This will help. But in the long run, we will have to reconcile. We have not reconciled our differences in this country. We are still in a state of amnesty at best, wherein we are still trying to determine what our status is in this country. We ought to, at some point, reconcile. This is why I have introduced legislation to have a department of reconciliation with a secretary of reconciliation that reports to the President of the United States whose job it will be to develop a strategy and implement the strategy to eliminate racism and discrimination in this country.”

He continued, “We survived segregation, but we have not reconciled. It is time for us to start that process. And there is no better place to start than having a secretary of Reconciliation, whose job it will be to push the process forward. We have to start there.”

Green urged both Democrats and Republicans to support his idea to create a Department of Reconciliation.

Discrimination, isn't that illegal? I mean unless you happen to White nowadays, and the same for racism. We have come into the time where what 'people of color', at least the vocal militant faction are demanding and promoting is a level of racism, discrimination and subjugation of White people to rival if not exceed that of slaves. Were slaves demanded to kneel and ask for forgiveness, to wash the feet of Whites they met on the streets?

I want to know where this discrimination is happening, not in schools where Blacks are given preference, the workplace, perhaps but more likely many are put at the head of the line or promoted before more qualified but not Black applicants/employees which was certainly the case in the 70's where unless you where a legacy the only way for a White in many places to get on as a fireman had to score 100% on all exams and have extra points for being a veteran.

So I am guessing that by reconciliation Rep. Green probably means that we pay all Blacks reparations for something none of us did and for all White people to kneel and kiss the asses of those who desire to be the new Massah's.

I wonder if the head of this new department will be White or Black ... or will that be the first "reconciliation" to be dealt with? Who will decide?

The best way to stop racism is to stop doing things like that.  Stop treating anyone different.  Believe in Martin Luther Kings dream.  Believe in our Constitution that says we are all created equal. 

Perhaps when all the talking political heads are meeting with African American Pastors they should remind them that Jesus said we must love our enemy and forgive him.  That is how our country should move ahead. 

Forgiving doesn't mean we have to forget the past.  But it opens the door to healing.  That is why Jesus tells us to do it.  It helps us.

If we forgive He will forgive us also.  We should be examples of Christ. 

Reconciliation is already in the laws.  We just have to uphold them.  Reconcile to the Constitution.  American should mean American.  Period.

Ugly truth to tell,we don't need a department. All we need is to stop treating black people like retarded children,and DEMAND they step up to the plate and act like responsible citizens.

No more affirmative action hiring or promotions. If you want something,WORK for it like everybody else,and if you are not capable of obtaining that goal,fail and lower your expectations to a job goal you CAN obtain,just like everybody else.
