Ok...this now makes; Seattle, Nashville, Broward County, FL and Tulsa ...oh... I forgot Austin, TX   Anybody still think that we don't have a major problem on our hands?  Still think things are going to be resolved at the ballot box?  The mayhem was allowed to get out of control, the police officers and national guards hands were tied.  The result is becoming apparent.

Tulsa police major warns of coming law enforcement exodus: 'Every officer you talk to is looking to leave'

Tulsa, Okla. police Maj. Travis Yates told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Friday that he is "extremely concerned" for the future of law enforcement amid ongoing backlash following the death of George Floyd and the rise of the "defund the police" movement.

On Friday, Yates published a column on the website LawOfficer.com headlined, "America, We Are Leaving."

"I wouldn’t wish this job on my worst enemy," Yates wrote. "I would never send anyone I cared about into the hell that this profession has become ... I used to talk cops out of leaving the job. Now I’m encouraging them. It’s over, America. You finally did it You aren’t going to have to abolish the police, we won’t be around for it."

"Officers are afraid to speak out, they are afraid to talk," Yates told Carlson. "You are only your next call away from being canceled or destroyed, and so officers feel very limited. I think citizens do, too, and we had just as many citizens comment on that article and send us emails."..........

Lack of law enforcement nationwide will only embolden terrorist Antifa and BLM factions.   So called autonomous zones, CW2 and mass casualties may result.  I will feel sorry for those  unable or not have the stomach to protect themselves.

Not only embolden those terrorists but other terrorist groups as well.  I'm waiting for the first citizen to pull the trigger to defend themselves and family; the DEMS will push for gun control as a way to combat all of this.

And at that point what we have in armament will be a closely held family national secret.  Kind of a break glass in case of fire scenario.

Yeah, um.... sorry.   I don't believe it.  I have two retired police officers in my family.  These guys are not like you and me.  They are ideologically driven to uphold the law, no matter what happens politically in this country.  I think there are more cops that will be re-upping than leaving due to the dire nature of the situation that the radical left is creating.

I've received a response back from the police chief in my area also and so far so good. Just over the bridge from here ... things are starting to heat up....it's just a matter of time.

And ... we're talking Tulsa, OK -- one of the highest crime areas in the U.S.  Seattle, Austin, Detroit, Nashville -- all high crime areas and the thugs have been allowed to riot with no pushback.  The National Guard sent in without arms .... so there is no incentive for this movement to stop.

I am sure that there is a pretty nice sized faction that have your family members mindset.  OTOH, there are many that see this as an occupation.  Honestly, maybe the best analogy right now I can find right now, is what people in the military went through at the end of Vietnam, and soon afterwards.

The police aren't blameless in this mess. It didn't happen overnight.
This kind of mass insurrection is only possible by far too many Americans having dealings with swaggering copbullies who abuse their authority with the very public that they are supposed to serve. Hard to deny when the internet is full of videos of just such occurrences.

If the good cops had the initiative, means, and perceived support to speak out against bad cops what a wonderful world this would be.
Has anyone ever heard of a policeman receiving accolade from the union for trying to rid his force of those colleagues who abuse their authority?

There is no incentive and often downright retribution when a honorable officer wants to speak out against a colleague who is nothing more than a uniformed miscreant.

Where is there will of the "99%" to clean out the "few bad apples?"

99% of Cops - good
100% of Antifa / BLM rioters and looters - bad

With that statistic in hand.....

Now is not the time to give any quarter to our enemies.  First things first.

One has the color of authority, the other doesn't.
Antifa/BLM's standing (such as it is) is enhanced and empowered by that "1%."
Let's remove the bad cops and see what happens.

Just as in every single other profession, there have always been bad cops. Alot more in the past than today. People didn't riot.

Continue to winnow out the bad ones. But there is no justification for these creeps' behavior.

Holy smokes....  I like you.  You are a good poster, but it is delusional to think taking these steps would make any changes or difference, in the short term. There is a much larger, more sinister agenda underway.  Why do you think Antifa has allied themselves with BLM?  It sure isn't their love of black people or oppresion of black people.

Agreed.  With the advent of body cams, the temptation of letting emotions getting the best of them has improved police behavior significantly.  Their more root cause agenda and intent is not weeding out bad police, but is defunding and destroying policing as a profession.

It's no mere accident of happenstance that most of the major cities in America have been hijacked by the radical left.  It's their usual tactic... the camel nose in the tent.

As for Tulsa, at least you don't have a rabidly left governor.  There is hope.

Good points @FeelNoPain  But reading the list of demands and hearing the groups that have coopted the BLM movement --- while bad cops were the trigger this is not a spontaneous reaction to bad policing.  This is about much, much more and has been festering and encouraged since at least Occupy Wall Street.

"Continue?" Is there evidence that they are now being winnowed out?
I ask again, where are the examples of good cops speaking out against bad ones?  Serpico in 1970? It nearly cost him his life.

If the system, the authority itself is perceived as tolerating abuse and corruption, how can there be any credibility with the public? Especially the young.
What happened in the past is irrelevant in the age of social media. In the past, Officer Chauvin would still be on the job because there would be no video of George Floyd's death.

I wholeheartedly agree.
The bad policing narrative gives them a credible vehicle to bolster their numbers.

Once the police are gone, and regular citizens are forced to take the law into their own hands, the Blacks and the Left will be screaming to bring the police back.

Citizens have no training in 'tolerance', and no rules to bind them. If I beat the shit out of thief or even kill them, what are they going to do? Call the Cops? Oh but wait, there are no Cops. You got rid of them all. The criminal death rate will skyrocket, but nobody will know it. Even on this very forum, we are already discussing how to get rid of a body. At this point it is a kind of joke. But when the Police go away, that may change.

It will be 1800s Justice all over again.

Every profession has a 1-5% incompetency rate. Still you don't see protestors and rioters burning down AMA offices for quackery.
Again, the whole narrative of bad policing is a crutch for a deeper agenda.  Weaken the country by stripping down its ability to enforce its own laws.

Without a doubt policing has become more professional & ethical as time has gone on. There are things that can be done to improve it further - the reform of police unions for example.

But to bring this up now lends justification to what we've seen happen these past few weeks. Untrue and absolutely unacceptable.

It doesn't matter who is screaming what at that point.  The RL will be using the end result of violence (vigilante self-defense) to justify gun confiscation.   It's a win-win for them... and probably their ultimate goal in all of this "created chaos".
