'Defund the police' a new land mine for Biden as Democrats warm to the idea
by Joseph Simonson
 | June 06, 2020 12:00 AM

The campaign of presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden is being forced to grapple with a new political landscape that includes creeping support within the party for defunding the police, a notion that is anathema to moderate swing-state voters Biden desperately needs.

The "defund the police" movement has its roots in the kind of political radicalism accompanying the Weatherman bombings of the 1970s. But the idea is now seeing support among mainstream Democrats, including a senior adviser to 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Many Democrats and left-wing activists have dropped calls for reforming law enforcement in the country and instead opted to demand the police lose their funding altogether.

"Defund the police," Brian Fallon, who also served as a spokesman for Attorney General Eric Holder, tweeted on Wednesday. That sentiment was extended to sitting Democratic politicians, including members of the Minneapolis City Council, where some of the worst rioting and looting occurred.

Defund the police is right up there with stop drinking water.  Both will result in you dying sooner than later.

We have dumbed down our society for decades, and the proof is clearly evident with the sentiment of defunding the police.  Defund the police is not a land mine, it is plain utter stupidity run amuck.

George Floyd's death was a tragedy, and I believe the four police officers will be convicted.  All that will take time, but jobs will come back, people will return to work, and the so called revolution will die away as fast as it generated.

The landmine they have is a nominee that is senile, with a proven history of being against the black man.  Trump will easily make road kill out of Biden.  EASILY!!!

Defund the police is right up there with the Green New Deal.  The Dems just can't embrace bizarre lunatic ideas sufficiently or quick enough.  Everything they are doing defies simple, basic common sense.  They are nuttier than a pecan pie.  But that is a good thing, for they will lose come November by a huge margin.  Crazy just is not in demand by the majority of America.

Defund the police is right up there with stop drinking water.  Both will result in you dying sooner than later.

It will play right into the radical left agenda.  Remember Obama's wet dream of a Civilian National Security Force?  Well he is still there, in the background, wanting to implement his policies.

We have also allowed the lies to stand instead of speaking up and out about them.  Lies that allow the guilty to go free just because of their skin color (remember OJ?).  And lies that ignore black thugs killing blacks (like in Chicago)....and only blaming the police when a black thug dies "in custody" (while resisting arrest).

George Floyd's death was a tragedy, and I believe the four police officers will be convicted.  All that will take time, but jobs will come back, people will return to work, and the so called revolution will die away as fast as it generated.

But.... aren't ALL deaths a trajedy?   A trajedy doesn't equate to murder, however.   And if all four or even one of those officers is convicted of murder... I think 'that' will be a trajedy.  A trajedy and a death knell for this country's future and for the very concept of truth.  Because the radical left will never let it "die away".  They will keep pushing the lies.

I don't know about easily....but I do think Trump will win, despite the best efforts of the left to lie, cheat and steal their way back into the White House.  Let's face it.   Biden's function is to be a front-man for the real power behind the curtain.   And we can pretty much guess who that will be.

Another leftist lie tactic.....based on another lie (global warming) with the goal of gaining power over every industry and every American.   The problem goes back to what you referenced above.  The dumbed down, stuckonstupid Americans that vote....and that don't know any better than to believe the lies.

Let's hope that reality and truth prevail this November.   If it doesn't....America truly is doomed.

Which leaves unasked, the obvious question "WHAT do the Dims have planned in the background to keep the debates from happening? It is clear by now to even most of the Dim voters that are dead that Biden is a walking and talking plant,so WHAT are the Dims planning to come up with to stop the debates and campaigning if/when this bogus "Deys a virus goin round dat gonna kill ebberybodie! Shriek! Shriek! Shriek! Eberybodie stay home and doan campaign!" thing has about ran it's course.

They obviously have something else planned,so what is it? More riots?

Or will Slow Joe have to get sick and die from Arkancide?

Anybody know?

What does the Constitution say must happen if a Presidential candidate dies or is declared incompetent after it is too late to run another primary? Can one be named by the DNC with no public vote taken?

Anyone know?

Speaking of Joe Biteme, does anybody know about the least-reported story of the past two weeks?

There were some primaries held a few days ago, and Sloe Joe clinched the number of Delegates required to win the Nomination.  He needed 1,991 Delegates to win the first round of voting, and he now has 2,011.  There can be no second ballot if Shortbus Joe stands for the election (and he will).

For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.

Wrong! Not only CAN there be,there MUST be one if the candidate is disabled due to illness,or dies.

What is it and how is it implemented?

I am guessing Congress elects the new President, but that's just a guess.

@sneakypete

I am not wrong, which is why I specified "if he stands for election (which he will)."  The Nomination is "clinched" by all standards observed, to date, and that is the unreported story that should have been huge news.

The scenarios you describe are only the stuff of parlor talk, nothing more.  If Biteme doesn't actually kick the bucket, he's in the November Election.  Even of he does kick it, he'll still be on the ballot, like that Carnahan guy was in the Senate race against John Ashcroft. The dead man beat Ashcroft, and the Governor then appointed the widow to the office.

@Cyber Liberty

So,according to your scenario,we can have a dead candidate win the Presidential election in 2020?

@sneakypete

That is correct, especially since we don't vote for the candidate, we vote on the Electors in the Electoral College.

You sound like you doubt my reply.  I think it's a moot point, because the Rats can simply choose somebody else.  Sure,, it will violate their own rules, but has that ever stopped them before (*cough* "Lautenberg" *cough*)?

That's something I just don't understand. Anybody that has been paying even the slightest attention to what has been going on started "arming up" a couple of decades ago.

The rest of us were already armed.

Some people will vote for Biden, because they perceive him as more of a Centrist.

But he won't be running the show if he's President.  He will have no choice but to carry out the Rats Radical Agenda,  whether he personally agrees with it or not.

People need to get that through their thick skulls.

And guess. They call us racists. The guy who helped me sharpen my skills is a Puerto Rican guy from the Bronx. He worked in Santa Ana CA for the PD, in youth gang programs.

But he can sure shoot, and teach shooting. He was one of the first guys I met in AA. I can't even remember if he is a vet or not. It isn't something he would talk about continually.

Super nice guy. His son is another friend. Talented piano player, loving father, too.

A lot of "gun types" look all nice and cuddly most of the time. The main thing, if Antifa rolls down the street, is to leave enough remains to identify them.

I think therein lies the answer.

If Mr. Biden were to expire between election day (or even a little prior to it) and the meeting of the Electoral College, the electors will become the ones who determine who the president will be.

After all, it is they who actually "cast the votes" for president during the meeting of the Electoral College in December.

If Mr. Biden won the election, and if he were no longer alive, I can see the Electoral College proceeding as such:
- First roll call will give victory to Mr. Biden (even though he cannot become president), due to states' laws that may require electors to cast their first vote for the candidate who actually won in their respective states.
BUT because Mr. Biden cannot assume the office, a second ballot will be taken, etc.
- On second roll call, electors will be free to vote for whoever they wish. This is where the backroom dealin' will happen. They might vote Mr. Biden's running mate to become president. Or... might they be persuaded to "elect" someone else. Who will that be...?

I'm going to invest in a personal firearm.

First off, I believe HRC is the mastermind behind the curtain.  I think Biden is in on the ruse.  He will most likely feign a stroke or something, and HRC will emerge from the convention.  Everything revolves around the convention.  The Dem candidate coming out of the convention will be the person to beat.

That is the surprise from the Democommies.  Slo Joe is nothing more than a smoke screen.  He will end up with some role in her administration, should she win.  What cabinet position would allow him to build payoff relationships with foreign governments the most?  That is where he will hang his hat.

What's actually dumb about this is that where the city will not enforce the law, the county is obliged...
Where the city law remains basically unenforced, and thereby basically stricken, County law still applies and will be enforced, with the county backcharging the city... SO the cost of enforcement will go up, and the city just wrote off their ability to make law.

That's right.  There will still be County law, by County Mountie.  I really hope they can staff up enough to do the job.

Good point!  So, they get the same cops, but laws from the County.  Betcha Deputies don't waste time going after Ordinance gripes from the Karens.  And they get a police force that won't enforce stupid laws passed by the City.

This could be fun!   :2popcorn:
