Police were sent in after the mayor learned that Jackson was a Democrat.
Maybe they had Andrew confused with Stonewall Jackson.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

We're hoping Gen. Thomas Jackson will remain under the radar. One person - ONE - from somewhere near his hometown of Clarksburg, WV, is demanding the removal of a statue there. I suspect the rest of the community reveres him. City officials really need to stand up to this bullying.

Stonewall Jackson statue in downtown Clarksburg, WV

His nearby boyhood home, Jackson's Mill, is the site of the first 4-H camp in the nation, and is managed by WVU (which I hope doesn't go "woke" on us about the name of the facility). An interesting point is that Clarksburg is in a part of the state that was predominantly Union-sympathizing. My kinfolk, from what today is southern WV, near the present-day capital of Charleston, fought for the confederacy; one was commanded by Col. George S. Patton.

WV also has a state park and very nice resort (complete with Arnold Palmer-designed golf course) named after Stonewall. Please, oh please, don't change the name of the park!

THanks. Just read parts of a bit at The Atlantic babbling on about how the South was white supremacist, etc. Hoo Boy.

In either North or South, to vote you had to be free, 21, white, male, and a property owner.

Ignored that the South was INVADED--of course the South fought.

I started to write a reply and just wrote that babble off.

Makes a guy wonder how many cops risked life and limb to help someone out this week who will barely get a mention in the local paper, if that.

Here's an excerpt from my re-reading of Thomas Chittum's "Civil War II" just a few minutes ago.
Bear in mind he wrote this more than 23 years ago:
=======================================
Civil War II will be preceded by a wave of urban riots that will last an entire summer and extend all across America in every major city. Make no mistake about it, the Los Angeles riot of '92 was Civil War II knocking on the door. Eventually, Civil War II will claw through the door and be upon us like a reptilian predator. These herald riots will be similar to the Angeles riot of '92 in that they will last for multiple days before the police and military assemble sufficient force to put them down, and there will be massive looting and burning of entire districts.

The first stage of this summer of riots will seem to be nothing more than the Los Angeles riot of '92 multiplied by most major cities. In this stage, it will still be possible to end that the crisis is manageable and temporary like Phase 3 riots. The riots will then shift into a decided military mode. Street gangs and minority militias will set up barricades, lay siege to police stations, take over television stations, capture entire cities, raise revolutionary flags, and demand negotiations with the federal government for financial relief of the cities, and redress of "racist injustices."

=======================================

That fits "CHAZ" to a "Z"...

Yeah...but their problem is.... thanks to the election of the Marxist Usurper Barry.... our side is VERY well armed now... especially after the Covid-19 BS... and our side has its own militias now.  Militias that are royally pissed off, chomping at the bit and saying "Bring it".
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

@catfish1957

CAREER criminal perp........

He wasn't a Boy Scout running a fever who didn't know what he was doing.

BTW,I am NOT saying that butthole cop shooting him was justified. It wasn't. The SOB deserves hard time for this instead of special consideration BECAUSE he was a trained cop that can't claim he didn't know better. You can bet everything you own that he would have happily locked YOUR ass up if you had done the same thing,and maybe given you a beatdown on the way to lock up.

I wasn't there. I don't know what the cop saw, but they are trained to shoot if someone points a gun looking thingy at them. His less-than-lethal was gone. He shot. If the suspect hadn't fought, took the taser, and run, then pointed something (how good was the light?) at the cop, maybe he'd be bitching about it to his cellmate or have made bond by now. It took a bunch of screwing up to get his a$$ killed. Hard to muster up some sympathy for that, and I'm not a straight up "back the blue" type who thinks they do no wrong.

@Smokin Joe

Nope,not gonna work. The cops had already patted him down searching for weapons,AND the cop had SEEN him take the lazer from his partner.

AND.....,you can bet the farm he would have happily locked YOUR ass up if he had caught you doing the same thing in the same circumstances.

I say we hold the trained professionals to at LEAST the same standards we hold ordinary citizens.

Granted,the rapidly cooling meat in the video is not the most sympathetic victim I have ever seen,but NEVER forget that a legal system that allows a cop to get away with killing someone like him for no good reason will also allow a cop to kill YOU for no good reason.

We either ALL have the same rights,or none of us have ANY rights.

Transgender Attacks Democrat & NBC Reporter in Autonomous Zone. They Immediately Call for Police

Dan Bongino
18 mins ·
NBC News reporter Andrea Mitchell and Democrat Rep. Holmes Norton were just attacked by a transgender in the autonomous zone in DC and they immediately cried for police. We've reached peak irony.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I was there today but I had left just before the freak got into it with Andrea Mitchell and Eleanor Holmes Norton standing in the middle of 16th Street NW...  LOL!  VIDEO is on Dan Bongino's FB page.  It won't copy and paste for me.
