George Floyd's death ramps up the pressure on Biden for a black VP
By Brad Bannon, opinion contributor — 06/01/20 02:00 PM EDT

Joe Biden has his work cut out for him if he becomes president.

While Donald Trump was asleep at the switch, the deadly COVID-19 killed more than 100,000 Americans and 40 million more people have lost their jobs.

Even if the pandemic recedes by inauguration day in January, there is danger of a second wave of contagion next winter during flu season. Biden would also need to deal with the lingering pandemic economic fallout of lost jobs, bankrupt businesses, increased government spending and declining tax revenues.

Just when you thought, things could not get any worse, they did. The tragic death of George Floyd and the president’s response opened festering racial wounds in American society and ramped up the pressure on Joe Biden to select an African American running mate.

Biden feels zero pressure for selecting a black VP candidate.  He takes the black vote for granted.  In half a century of public office, he hasn't done a single thing to earn the black vote other than putting a 'D' after his name.  And that alone has worked well for him all this time.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Nope.  I still laying odds on Michelle Obama.  She's already given her opinion on this issue and Barrack is already laying out his suggestions for "real change" ... you know, here we go again with the whole hope and changey thing again.

Barack Obama on Monday published a carefully reasoned article about police violence and mob violence, advising his fellow Americans how to restore peace and justice. Donald Trump, meanwhile, ranted at the nation’s governors by phone. He said most of them were “weak” and urged them to use the military to “dominate” the protesters.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
