Atlanta Mayor says Trump should 'stop talking' about protests: 'This is like Charlottesville all over again'

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (D) said President Trump should stop commenting on the protests sweeping the nation in response to the death of George Floyd, arguing that the president is making the situation worse.

“He should just stop talking. This is like Charlottesville all over again,” Bottoms said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” referencing the deadly 2017 white supremacist rally and counter-protest in Virginia after which Trump said there were "very fine people on both sides."

“He speaks and he makes it worse,” she added. “There are times when you should just be quiet, and I wish that he would just be quiet.”

And guess what? All that soaring oration from Obama didn't do squat, either. And he's term limited anyway, so they'll never get their way.

Today, Mayor Bottoms was apologizing for two of her police officers who used excessive force last night on a couple of college students.   Not sure how that ties to Trump.
