Crises everywhere: Trump fighting on all fronts before election
by Rob Crilly
 | May 30, 2020 12:00 AM

Minneapolis is on fire. Beijing is flexing its muscles. And there is no immediate end in sight to the coronavirus pandemic that has already claimed 100,000 lives in the United States and shuttered swaths of the economy.

Less than six months before the election, President Trump is being tested like never before, battling crises that range from racial tensions at home to geopolitical shifts in the Far East.

Some are partly of his own making, such as provoking a war with social media companies after a string of incendiary, defamatory, or untrue tweets, while others stem from the sudden emergence of a deadly infectious disease more than 7,000 miles away.

The result is likely to be a long, hot summer of discord.

Opponents see an opening for the presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden to appeal to a weary public with a message of calm, while supporters say it is a moment for bold leadership.

Fighting for what's right is a messy business.
Of course, he could have just followed the obama/bush/clinton lead and had an easy 8 years...

I know it upsets some folks here to say this, but Trump is an amazing individual for a man his age. Works hard, fights hard and keeps on going, though he faces seemingly overwhelming opposition and treachery from deep state operatives of both parties.

I pray for his re-election and defeat for his enemies.

Listen to yourself.  Deep state operatives of both parties.  This is exactly what Trump has used to keep his presidency afloat.  Q Anon, and the poor me, everyone is against me.  Its what allows Trump to tweet conspiracies and be excused for it.  He could do or say anything and any criticism would be "deep state"  Everything is an attack on poor Trump.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Ideology and hate...the two greatest blinders ever invented by humanity. You wear both as badges of honor, which makes you little better than the fools out "protesting" with rocks and clubs. Like others, you self servingly try to rename these idiocies as principle and passion. They are not.

A couple clues, as you seem to lack such. There clearly IS a deep state that not only exists but crosses party lines. That deep state IS the mortal enemy of conservatism AND President Trump. All of us here criticize the President at times much as we could find things to criticize about Winston Churchill or Franklin Roosevelt...hell...even Gandhi. But the vast majority here are smart enough to weigh the balance...and to see that the President...and the aforementioned other leaders...come out HEAVILY on the plus side of any objective scale.

I don't wear hate as a badge of honor.  If you wanted to accuse anyone of that it should be Trump.  Ever present in his tweets.  At his rallies....  Deep state does exist.  I don't deny it.

The reason I post is because I believe what I say.  If you are worried about deep state you should be worried about Trump and his alternate government.

President Trump has created a “deep state” of his own by installing loyalists throughout his administration, according to author David Rohde.

“I don't know if, you know, this is a calculated thing by Trump or if he's just reacting to the political maelstrom around him, but he's — sort of under the guise of stopping a coup that doesn't exist — Trump is steadily upending the checks and balances that have really protected American democracy for centuries now. He's politicizing the Justice Department and other parts of the government to protect his friends and attack his enemies. And he's basically creating a parallel shadow government filled with loyalists,” Rohde told NPR in a recent interview.
Rohde, the author of a forthcoming book titled In Deep: The FBI, The CIA, And The Truth About America's 'Deep State,’ said Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Fox News host Sean Hannity are examples of the president’s “shadow government.”

Citing a wild-eyed liberal NYT propagandist who hates the President is not helping your case...and you once again give air to left wing talking points by citing a left wing moron. Why support the Left in this way?

You almost literally exude hatred and disdain for our President. I really don't think I'm being hyperbolic in saying that...you expend boundless energy finding and posting ANYTHING negative about him that you can found no matter how dubious the report and/or source. How is that not hate?

For context's sake, I would say that I myself "hate" Nancy Pelosi and cannot be objective about anything she says or does. I imagine we all feel that way about certain politicians, if we're being honest. Clearly, you project a similar feeling towards the President.

Hate is not the word in my case.  It isn't about hate its about getting to the root of the changes happening in our government.  Swinging widely to and fro from one extreme to the next.  And honestly I didn't know who that was when I posted it other than he contributes to a Christian news source also.  But it was posted from Washington Examiner.  And it doesn't matter to me who it came from I have already come to the same conclusion on my own.

Glaring is the transformation of government under Trump.  The Administration has even said that they are creating a dynasty.  I don't need any liberal leaning commentator to show me that.

Let's just keep this simple.

One of two men will be president after the 2020 election.

We all have but 3 options in response to this binary choice. Vote Trump...vote Biden...or...take any other action (which immediately becomes the equivalent of political martyrdom...sitting on your hands on the sidelines in abject surrender waiting for someone to come and deprive you of your constitutional rights).

Sitting on my hands and surrendering...not an option for me or most conservatives. Ditto for a Biden vote. Neither is maintaining my self gratifying purity while allowing the country to be handed over to AOC, Ilhan, and Nancy. I will take my imperfect President and fight with him against the tide of Socialist evil that is rising in this country...and apparently...you will undermine that fight and so give aid and comfort to the Left.

And that is why I object so vehemently to this NeverTrump idiocy...because in the end, it is simply surrender to the Far Left.

One deep state to another.  Trump creating his own deep state.

So, if a President puts solid conservatives and honorable men into positions that had previously been held by deep state actors...they are somehow now the moral equivalent of these predecessors? That makes absolutely zero sense.

Yes, it is.  Not only, IMO, does hate fit your narrative perfectly, I'd add "obsession" to it.

Based on what?  Conservative has changed.

What's that got to do with the appointed men being honest and honorable?

We can argue all day about how Conservatism is defined, and rest assured that definition is not a static way...and never has been. That said, the definition today is essentially the same as it has been for the past few decades. Your perception of what conservatism is...on the other hand...is likely a bit narrow and less secular than it should be...based on a reading of your many postings.

The conservative* Bush put Roberts on the supreme court, and yet Bush enjoyed wide support with conservatives.

The liberal* Trump put Gorsuch and Kavanaugh and dozens of others—conservatives, on the federal courts, and he’s vilified by NeverTrumpers.

Sorta tests the limits of human logic, doesn’t it.

*your mileage may vary.

Trump 'rallied' for the person who would harm the Democrat label the most.  But that simple truth gets in the way of the false narrative you are pushing.

Oh, I see.  It was more important to display the lunacy of Nancy Pelosi than have a working government?  Three years of the witch ruling over Congress and it was some sort of strategy I didn't understand?  Shees.
