A civilian armed with a rifle saved Kwethluk police after a gunman opened fire on them.

Kwethluk, AK – A gunman’s plot to kill unarmed police officers inside a village public safety building was thwarted when an armed civilian intervened and rescued them.

“If we had access to firearms, we’d be able to handle more of these scenarios on our own,” Kwethluk Village Police Officer Tiger Lee told KYUK after he and his coworkers were saved by the local citizen.
